Rigby and Peller....cos you're worth it

I just thought I would share this with everyone as I see lots of bra sizing threads on here with women getting all sorts of varying sizes thrown at them.
I am not one for designer names (and nor is my purse!) but I was given a voucher for here (it was probably enough for half a pair of knickers) so I thought I would put it towards a bra/pantie set.
Went to Brent Cross store and got fitted as part of the service and have now discovered I am a new size (at least for their bras anyway). The service compared to other fitting shops is another league, the girl who served me can only have been 20 but did she know her stuff or what!
I went through the usual story of my 'breast' history.....see my profile! and she was so helpful in finding exactly the right fit for my hormone developed breasts (helped by surgery!) and am one cup size different to all my other bras!

this is the bra I chose. For that price it will be one a decade, my mum nearly passed out!

Good for you - I had a drawer ful of bras that shops had said were my size, but i was never comfy in them. (From a 36B to a 38D)Then i went in small local shop and discovered Prima Donna bras - I now have 3 bras that fit me (34D) instead of a drawerful of those that don't !!

Sounds great. Most of us 'bra experts' are big fans of R&P's service.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 04/06/2013 06:28

Wow at the price though!

P.S you look amazing in your pics Sarah

I wish Rigby would improve their size range a little too - I'm sized out :(

Don't want to sound snippy but I don't think it's fair to say that women get "varying sizes thrown at them" on the bra threads. It's normally pretty consistent advice.

In an ideal world everyone would be able to get a great in store fitting but it's just not happening at the moment. R&P are great but only have a few stores, are pricey and don't do the best size range. Bravissimo are also very good but a lot of areas don't have one and many women won't cross the threshold because they thing they "can't possibly be a d+". John Lewis is ok. Most other shops are still doing it very wrong.

We're trying to get other retailers to improve but at the moment the next best thing is educating as many women as possible about what a good bra looks and feels like. We know it's not as good as a real life fitting by an expert but it's a darn site better than many(even most!) in store experiences.

YY to everything Stats says Grin.

I went to R&P a few weeks ago to treat my DM for her birthday. I (30GG) am also pretty much sized out in their prettier ranges/styles.

Keztrel · 04/06/2013 11:02

I'd pay those prices if they had a better size range and the bras really were perfect. They don't have many options for a 28E, and I don't think it's that rare a size going by a lot of the bra threads.

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/06/2013 11:14

Not at all rare in reality Keztrel. Based on M&S fitting style, it's probably the "true" size for many women who have been fitted at around a 32B/34A/34AA.

Keztrel · 04/06/2013 11:25

Yes I would have thought that too Stat. I do have a small ribcage but am not tiny by any means. Was measured as a 32 years ago by M&S, back in the day when bras didn't go any smaller than that... All my old 32s are crazily loose round the back.

Keztrel · 04/06/2013 11:25

32C, I should say Hmm

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/06/2013 11:31

I can completely believe that - I'm a 30 and far from tiny (about a 14-16) and have been a 28 back at almost 12 stone in the past.

(I am small waisted and my ribs are narrow compared to the rest of me but if I am a 30....there are a lot of ladies needing 28s and 30s in reality!)
