sorry but you lot have such good advice I'm going to ask for help

in sept I am going to bil wedding, low key at a country club
I was going to wear a not wedding like cream dress that is just above knee length with bright red shoes, jacket etc. I did wear this outfit for my cousins wedding last year and it got lots of compliments.

but sil to be is a tad touchy, should I play it safe and get a new dress - very small budget - or go with my tried and tested outfit. no cross over with people at wedding other than dh

if you think I should get a new dress what do you suggest? I'm average height, size 10-12 and quite large on top so not too plunging

thanks for reading

I'd get a new dress touchy SIL or not Grin

What's your budget?

superbagpuss · 31/05/2013 17:28

seriously no more than 30 which I know isn't much
and it would have to go with shoes I already own
also I don't do pink at all.
bridesmaids are in blue so best to avoid that too Hmm

I'm filling the S&B threads with 50s tea dresses because they are just so flattering! Also not expensive.

WeAreSix · 31/05/2013 17:32

will go with your red shoes

superbagpuss · 31/05/2013 17:36

thanks wearesix but are they halter neck? I can't wear halter neck with my boobs, it pulls on my neck and gives me a headache

and yes, I realise how ungrateful that sounds, sorry

No, not always.

Audrey Hepburn Style

that is an amazing colour - does it have straps?

I also have purple shoes and a purple wrap already as I already have a purple dress .........

OP posts:
WeAreSix · 31/05/2013 17:47

Sort of straps - more like an envelope neck I think. Enough to cover the top of your shoulders.

Am I on the right lines?

superbagpuss · 31/05/2013 17:55

kind off.
normally I go for a scoop neck but am open to new ideas as I have no dress sense
shame I can't go and try it one, it does look amazing

Can you rock a maxi dress? I'm big of bristols but a 'knot' front maxi looks fab with heels and they are mondo cheapo everywhere at the mo. Dotty Perkins has loads on special offer. Also - no worries about pale / dry legs which is a major plus....

superbagpuss · 31/05/2013 18:04

sparkle, thanks for the comment
I have really short legs and a long back so they always look like I'm wearing my mums dress in dress up

I'm not very helpful am I. I hate clothes shopping

Could you dye the cream dress? It sounds like you love it but I do think another colour might be wise...

superbagpuss · 31/05/2013 18:13

sparkle - that's a good idea, I will ask my mum as she's good at that kind of thing Smile

Hurrah - would leave you £25 for a new bag or vodka

WeAreSix · 31/05/2013 19:36

£25 on vodka?! I'd be on the floor! it only takes one drink
