... Thank you, it's gorgeous - perfect shade of blue, comfortable, flattering, I think it can be dressed up for going out, and I like it so much I've just ordered another. Flowers

Forgot to check returns (it was an impulse purchase this morning when DS woke me at 5.30). Free delivery though.

LaTrucha · 01/06/2013 09:30

No. You have to pay for returns. Bum. Oh well.

DawnOfTheDee · 01/06/2013 09:41

I want it! Not sure weather to get the m or l size though. I'm 5'6" and size 14/16. Any ideas?

Jbck · 01/06/2013 10:09

The Kaliko dress is on the Debenhams site in a 10 or 12 mocha if anyone is interested.
Free returns and £1 cheaper

Thanks Kin. Gap have quite a few nice dresses this season, it seems. I might have to go into one of their shops and see if any of the dresses work with the bf. Luckily there are a few with buttons at the front.

Ujjayi · 01/06/2013 13:25

The Kaliko dress is also available in a size 12 at John Lewis site for £24 with free instore collection (not sure about delivery charges)

CointreauVersial · 01/06/2013 21:06

I really want a maxi dress, but I can't imagine when I'd wear one.

If I try one on, I feel like I'm in fancy dress, or wearing a nighty.

When do you actually wear your maxi dresses?

Corygal · 01/06/2013 22:32

All day, every day. Believe it or not, it makes dressing miles simpler. Just sandals and jacket and go.

That Gap one does look rather nice bit I feel too wobbly to wear a light or bright colour. The Next one I've linked to is flattering and v easy to wear.

WilsonFrickett · 01/06/2013 22:45

I got the grey gap one Grin

Kefy, I don't think that one would work for bf, but they did have some other styles.

Corygal · 02/06/2013 19:55

Wllson - what is grey like? Is it marl or flat colour?

Billysilly · 02/06/2013 21:06

I'm thinking about buying this in the blue. I'm small of norks 32B but large of hips and with a muffin top (attractive). I'm not sure what size of hips I am but I wear size 12 jeans and trousers. (I realise 12 isn't large but it is in comparison to my top half.) I am 5ft 7. I'm thinking medium but I'm not sure about length, the sizing chart isn't working on my ipad. Do I perhaps need the large? Can anyone who has bought this advise?

WilsonFrickett · 02/06/2013 23:04

Cory - flat and quite a cool, pale grey.

WilsonFrickett · 02/06/2013 23:05

Billy I can't advise on the length, being tiny an that, but as a busty 12/14 I think the large would probably drown you on the top.

ComradeJing · 03/06/2013 01:19

FFS I went to order on the us site and between 8:30 ans 10:30 the black one sold out.

crazybutterflylady · 03/06/2013 08:50

kefy it works perfectly for Bfing. I bought it for that very reason (but then took it back because it seemed to cling to every lump & bump on me...I am overweight though Blush)

LaTrucha · 05/06/2013 13:40

Hi,

I thought you might like an update on the Kaliko dress, which came today.

The short story is, I much prefer the Gap one

The Kaliko one is a heavy, ribbed cotton. It is a darker blue - more like a royal blue. I found the amount of material in it overwhelming and unflattering - it did fit, so strictly speakin is true to size, but ther is so much material, particulalrly over the tummy, that I felt like I was wrapped in a sheet.

It doesn't do much more to cover your arms up either.

BTW, got a new bra at the same time and wow! does a good bra make a difference to the way a maxi looks!

QueenCadbury · 05/06/2013 14:02

Am I the only one that looks rubbish in the gap dress Grin. I tried in on yesterday as you'd all been raving about it but I found it really clingy to lumps and bumps. Despite being an xs/small I have a tum and bum and it just wasn't flattering. Gorgeous blue colour though and I did like the neckline.

LaTrucha · 05/06/2013 17:10

I can't say it's the most flattering thing around the waist, but then my waist needs to be slimmed down. Overall, I like it, in part because there's nothing crossing the breast area, which doesn't work well with my boobs / body shape. I also like the colour. I did notice I got a lot of compliments on the DRESS today, (rather than on how I looked in it).

kefybaby · 06/06/2013 23:10

Thanks, crazy. I popped into my nearest gap and tried it on. I agree with you - it can work with bf but it also does cling to every lump and bump. Perhaps a bigger size would have been better but I could not bring myself to try it on. Blush
