Best non smudge eyeliner?

ArgumentativeAardvark · 30/05/2013 20:03

I've bought 6 different eyeliners over the past 2 months and they all smudge!

Can anyone recommend a good non smudge one? Preferably not a gel one as I seem to struggle to use these accurately.

TIA

I bought a GOSH (superdrug) liquid eyeliner pen last week and it is fab. As soon as it's dry you can't shift it. Was also fed up with smudgy eyeliner pencils.

Have you tried tightlining? Sounds scary but after five minutes of watching a YouTube how to guide you'll be sorted. My sister's a nurse at a Cat A prison and says it's the only thing that's ever stayed put through nights. We use Laura Mercier cakeliner with the flat edge brush. Takes seconds once you get the hang of it, and won't smudge at all.

Bobbi brown long wear is quite good, urban decay eyeliners have great staying power, and the Chanel waterproof ones are good too.
The tightlining is very good but I can't get it to look very dramatic...it looks quite natural on me. Does stay put though!

I like Estee lauder Double Wear, and the Dior waterproof eye pencil. Also the Laura Mercier cake liner - the hard one you have to wet to use, not the dry caviar one.

Bobbi Brown and Urban Decay smudge on me.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/05/2013 22:07

Another vote for Urban Decay.

Lancome Artliner. Never, EVER, smudges. I have slept in it and its still intact in the morning.
The trick to remove it is to wet your eyes with warm water and then wipe with oil based remover (like baby oil).

Bakingnovice · 30/05/2013 23:45

Just discovered tightlining! Wow. Can I buy the Laura mercier cake liner online? And the brush?

I have to try this. What size brush do I need? Can you tightline using the actual liner pencil?

Gosh and Artliner both smudged on me and i do have the most smudge prone eyes ever (though i do love Gosh ) but N07's liquid Stay Precise eyeliner in Sea is amazing. Weirdly, other colours in the range smudge on me..but Sea is incredible. Sometimes I layer pencil colours on top of it . It's a navy blue and really suits me (I'm brown eyed) It looks great with green Gosh pencil on top (for me, with my red hair) - makes the pencil really last

i like the nars stylo eyeliners easy to use and stay on until you take them off.

ArgumentativeAardvark · 31/05/2013 20:17

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I've never heard of tightlining, it sounds intriguing and slightly concerning. I shall YouTube it Grin.

Urban decay 24/7 liners. Lasted a 16hr day. I've slept with it on Blush and it hasn't budged

Somethingtothinkabout · 31/05/2013 20:37

Coloursport 24 hour Eyeliner. It's a felt-tip liquid liner and it stays for about 2 days, no smudges. It's about £7 in Boots.

alltoomuchrightnow · 31/05/2013 20:42

really?!!!! when there was a thread about the single worst product ever, i named Coloursport 24 hr eyeliner as being my worst EVER. I had panda eyes within 15 mins and the entire lot had come off down my face, over eyelids etc. I am watery but still...it claims to stay put!

andadietcoke · 31/05/2013 22:38

bakingnovice John Lewis and SpaceNK will sell it online. I use the Laura Mercier flat eye liner brush.

Just came on to say I recently bought Estee Lauder double wear and it's crap and clumps into little balls - really disappointed. Had a make called Make Up Forever in Sephora before - loads cheaper and brilliant - it just goes to show more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better. Angry

Celticlassie · 01/06/2013 17:33

Just bought Collection 2000 felt pen eyeliner on a recommendation from a friend. Trying it tonight. Have everything crossed!

lovemakeup · 10/08/2015 17:34

Finding a non smudge eyeliner pencil seems mission impossible, tried allsorts, Maybelline, Max Factor, Rimmel and recently purchased Urban Decay 24/7 online as all the reviews gave 5 stars and raved about its staying power, I like UD because they don't test on animals, at least didn't but think now part of l'Oreal empire so that may have changed, anyway, I was lucky to get 24 minutes let alone 24 hours, tried Estee Lauder double wear, lasted about 2 hours and was disappearing even then. Haven't tried any of the liquid ones, as I prefer a softer line though not much good if it disappears. The search continues, though will try the No7 Stay Precise mentioned above.

Yellowgold · 10/08/2015 20:24

Mac liquid last liner. Wore it in v hot summer day for a wedding in India didn't budge even a tiny bit. Need a proper eye make up remover to take it off though

Aquamarine70 · 10/08/2015 22:59

I am looking for the same. I tried Urban Decay 24/7 & after a few hours it's smudged under my eyes. I'm going to try Too Faced Perfect Waterproof next as it has good reviews.

Nettletheelf · 10/08/2015 23:08

Don't bother with Avon supershock. Despite rave reviews, it slid straight off.

Aquamarine70 · 11/08/2015 06:47

Stila All day waterproof liquid eyeliner gets good reviews. I'm going to try that next.

TobleroneBoo · 11/08/2015 07:48

Stila waterproof! I am one of these people who gets watery eyes as soon as they laugh and it has been a revelation for me. Buy it from Asos or I think m&s stocks it Smile

MaryBerrysEyelashes · 11/08/2015 07:51

I love double wear. But Bobbi brown gel pencil us the best. Lasts 12 hours in Disneyland.

MaryBerrysEyelashes · 11/08/2015 07:52

Why is s nurse at a prison worrying about her eyeliner? Why is s prison seen as a place where eyeliner is put under test?!Grin
