Hi all. I have a MAC make over for my birthday next week. Its half hour long and they only concentrate on one area eg/ skin or eyes...
Just wondering if anyone has any tips/advice forit. i have never used MAC make up but under impression it's brilliant.

Hi - just joined Mumsnet so this is my first message - I use MAC makeup all the time (mainly eye shadows/brushes/mascara) and have also had the odd MAC makeover - I love their products but my advice would be to 'cherry pick' the items you really want and don't be cojoled into buying full range until you're ready...

what blusher would you recommend for a fair skin?

marieswoboda · 30/05/2013 14:20

For a fair skin I would recommend Clinique 'pink love' or Smashbox 'radiance' or similar. The blushers look bright but if used sparingly will just add the right amount of colour....I always knock off excess powder before applying to cheek or wipe the brushes across the back of my hand before applying...

thanks I'll try that out at the counter

I have very, very fair skin, always the palest foundation colour or sometimes all are too dark.
I had some advice from one of the make up artists at a Mac counter, a gay guy, brilliant he was. He recommended their Mocha blush for me. I was very sceptical, Mocha= brown?? Looked a bit dull pink??
Should just have trusted him...it was perfect on Grin

My own favourite blushers are Nars stick in Riviera & Laura Geller Ethereal Rose powder, which is perfect but not of course Mac where you're having your makeover.

I found my MAC makeover very hard sell. Go in with an idea of the maximum you want to spend. I totted up the price of the products recommended "as a minimum" and it was way above £200.
