Going to France this w/e, tips for looking chic, not cheap?

We are Eurocamping in Vendee. Will include beach and inland. Am a veteran camper, but not in France. Am also old and don't want to look like a brit tourist strab. Any ideas for what is appropriate where etc?
So far I have packed my walking boots and nowt else.

Bump - same question, we aren't going till later but I guess if I do my usual thing of waiting till July the shops will be full of autumn clothes.

Last time we camped in France I remember thinking the lady who ran the campsite was very chic - she had a good line in navy blue tops and cunningly tied scarfs/accessories which I think was pretty admirable for someone who was about 6 months enceinte and working on a farm!

The other thing is simply don't take much and shop for clothes when you get to France .
