Sheer Cover any good?

I have never tried a mineral makeup and I quite fancy it. I got watching the Sheer Cover advert last night and am tempted to try it, £20 for a sample of the various bits and pieces.

Has anyone tried it? Is it any good? They only have four colours to choose from for foundation and really don't know if I should choose fair or medium, but they say they have a 60 day trial and you can send it back if it isn't right. Has anyone used this?

Go to your nearest dept store and ask at the Bare Minerals counter for a sample to try, it will be free and you will be colour matched properly and you can choose between original and matte version.

Or Lily Lolo do samples on line very cheaply so you can get the right colour.

out of the two options you suggest, which would you go for?

I tried sheer cover. It's nice but small amounts and more expensive than bare minerals which you can get at debenhams and l'oreal mineral foundation which I found the best of all three.

Also, it is difficult to match your shade up and I had to reorder with a darker shade.

There is an offer on at the moment for £19.99 but you do only get a tiny amount.

The product is nice but I found the l'oreal one better shades for my skin although the brush is rubbish and I decanted it and use my own brush.

I didn't like lily lily as it didnt give me enough coverage but would be lovely for younger skin or those needing less coverage.

Somebody I knew got caught with the Sheer Cover, bought through one of the shopping channels and got suckered into (without being told) the automatic replacement every three months. It took her a long time to get out of it, do be careful.

Is sheer cover the same coverage has the loreal one ? I use loreal for nights out but it's full coverage and would never wear it in the day!! I always fancied sheer cover as a daytime alternative .

It looks like my best bet might be to go to the shops then and try out Loreal and Bare Minerals.

I am very intimidated by makeup counter ladies though! I just walk into those places and feel like I've put on three stone...silly I know but they just remind me of the mean girls at school who bitched at me the whole time. I think the big boots near me might have an unstaffed loreal bit so I might venture there first!

I found the L'Oreal one a bit shiny but that was a while ago when it first came out - they might have changed it by now.

I love the Lily Lolo colour range but it doesn't have enough staying power for me so I use Bare Minerals.

Lily Lolo is very good for sensitive skin as it doesn't contain bismuth which makes some people itch. The MATTE version of BM also doesn't contain bismuth but the original does.

Once you know your correct colour you can buy it from ebay for a tenner, I have been doing this for well over 2 years now.

I wouldn't buy from the shopping channel because of the auto renewal and shockingly high postage.

Ime BM orange ladies are lovely, very helpful and delighted to colour match you. Keep repeating to yourself that they want YOUR money so unlikely to be sniffy or rude as they want a sale :)

Sheer Cover Warning! Be careful when ordering any Sheer Cover product. I thought that I had placed a one off order for an introductory offer of £29.99 (£34.94 inc p&p) unaware that I had signed up for a further delivery of the product to the cost of £25.90 and 2 further charges of £19.95! Making the total cost of my order £101.74!!! The website is very clever at disguising what you are signing up for!!! BEWARE!

i watch the sheer cover shopping channel alot as I'm.fascinated by it but the way they sell it puts me off.

If you read through the website it does state clearly that if you accept the £29.99 + postage is an introductory offer to join their club. It says it 3 times, you are able to cancel with a quick call to customer services which is what I did and got not further orders or money taken out

I started with bare minerals, but I found it a little too yellow, and I am already pretty olive.

I've just bought the No7 mineral foundation - it only comes in one shade, but I think it's very good compared with BM and the Mac powder I've just run out of. I think it'd buy it again.

I use SheerCover,I got the starter VIP kit for £19-99 and after trying it I used my VIP status to order more of the minerals and the bronzer while still being VIP as I got it cheaper then I cancelled my VIP account so I would not be sent an expensive kit every three months..

SheerCover is not as simple to use and seen on TV.You should moisturize first,then use a primer.You need to use the concealer to cover up any marks,spots,dark circles etc.You may need to use concealer on most of your face,it is NOT a quality concealer contained in the pack,its fine for light coverage so I would suggest investing in a better quality one.

Once concealer has soaked in I then use the mineral powder.

It is advertised you get a NATURAL finish this means you will STILL see light blemishes,freckles and possible dark circles around your eyes but they will show very lightly.If you want complete coverage and that so called airbrushed look you need a quality foundation,cover your whole face and use SheerCover mineral powder after,then and only then do you get full coverage.

If you use primer your foundation colour lasts for hours and stays on your face longer.

SheerCover may appear expensive but if you can buy as a VIP you save money,you only need a tiny amount and it lasts for ages.

The cost of the mascara is disgustingly over priced and you can buy a good quality one in your local chemist that does a better job,the mascara is not even waterproof.

The bronzer is great however you can buy a cheaper version by Collection in SuperDrug and its only £2-99 at the moment that does the exact same thing.

Ive also tried Mineral Magic with the little coloured beads in the compressed powder.This does work and is only slightly better than SheerCover.However SheerCover 4g at £25-00 lasts several months.Mineral Magic is £9-99.BUT Mineral Magic compact only lasts a few applications and you would need to buy around 6 compacts to match SheerCover 4g usage and how long it lasts.

SheerCover is worth buying in my opinion BUT it is not as simple as a little concealer and a little powder.I love this product but I know how much work I have to do just to get the natural look.

Ive got sheer cover bought it quite a while ago & didn't opt for the repeat, but also bought other various mineral makeups online, if youre not sure about mineral make up try magic minerals I love it, I suffer with bad rosacea & swear by magic minerals, you can get them in boots, asda, morrisons & less than £10. You apply it like a blusher but need quite a bit on to cover up, but that's what you need to do with it & advertised as that. No matter what your skin type/colour, it works on all of them
