Would you recommend?

I've been ebaying like crazy, and have culled my wardrobe / accessories. I want to spend the cash raised on a smallish classic black bag which will stand the test of time. Something I'll still enjoy using in five years time.

I've seen that FrugalFashionista had a problem with the chain strap on hers. Lily owners have you enjoyed having your bag / found it useful / versatile?

In the end my chain could not be repaired by Mulberry. No nice bag available in the same price category (prices have gone up since last year) so I'll either have to accept a replacement bag I don't like or spend quite a bit more upgrading to a nicer bag.

Save yourself a lot of trouble and buy something else. I have lots of midrange and high-end bags and no others have had quality issues. Good luck getting five years out of yours - I got about five wears.

I think Mulberry guarantee all their bags for two years. If anything happens during that time they have to fix them for free. Why couldn't they repair the chain - did they say? It sounds like a fairly easy thing to do

What's more you can check out if they have them at the outlets
They will only post out perfect bags to you if you buy over the phone but they could have sub (substandard) bags that
I would presume have the reasons why they are a sub marked on. In anycase these are not available to order via the phone.
Once again the purse forum has an area where there is a thread abouy outlet stock that members keep updated as much as possible.

My Lily was under warranty but the Mulberry repair service informed me that they were unable to repair it. To me it sounded like they had outsourced the production of this part and perhaps couldn't obtain a similar replacement chain (they vary by model) any more. I haven't received the replacement bag yet - it's been a lengthy process Anyhow, if you are buying into quality and craftmanship, you may want to explore other options.

how annoying for you! I'm amazed they won't just give you another lily then - never mind the fact that they're more expensive than last year. Good luck with your replacement

If they couldn't replace it with the same bag then surely a full refund was the way to go? - - sounds very bad customer service to me - and if you are now accepting a bag which is more expensive and you don't like - you are not going to be a satisfied customer . . . . .

Agree that you need to be more pissed off with them, Frugal. Demand more.

They used to give vouchers to the value of a replacement bag (price rises taken into account). So if you paid £395 for a seasonal Lily on sale that was later written off then Mulberry would give £595 of vouchers so you could get another Lily full price (core colours are this price). They have certainly done this for me in the past with a bag beyond repair under warranty.

I've owned several Lily bags. Only had a problem wirh one. The leather snapped in the chain. I glued the leather back together again. Job done. I would recommend this style. They are handy bags.
