bootcut jeans,am i un cool?

I wear bootcut jeans, have been told they suit my pear shape and are 'classic'. I would like to try skinny jeans. would they suit me? iam 34, 5ft 2inch size 12.

I have a pair on now, they are long and pretty wide at the bottom . I am wearing them with suede converse and I'm gorgeous .
I wear skinnies but only rolled up and with a longer top, I have a bizarre looking foof area in tight jeans

YY to skinny jeans making you look like a golf club if you've got big feet. Boot cuts help to disguise my size 8s.

You won't know if they suit you until you try them on. I love my bootcuts and never feel mumsy in them. Got a pair a gap long and lean on today. Oh, how I wish gap would bring them back.

im sure primark ones are five quid but the death toll for the bangladesh factory is over 900 now. just sayin'

Too fat for skinnies - size 16. Love my boot cuts though

I'm a size 16 and pear shaped and I wear skinnies.... I do however wear tops long enough to cover my arse and a good portion of my chunky thigh! I then wear either knee boots or heels to lengthen the leg. It's all about proportions.

I'm 5ft 8in, size 10, and I feel lumpy and self-conscious in skinnys.

The main thing is to make sure they are long enough.
I wear pale ones (faded) with black boots which I'm reliably informed is a no-no

But I can't wear skinnies without long boots, they just look weird. (I'm a size 12 bum @ 5'5")
My size 6 DD wears skinnies. Can't compete .

Now you see that's not a good look is it? You can't wear skinny jeans when you are that height and size it's really unattractive and she is a pretty girl. I'm 5.2 pear shaped size 12 i wouldn't wear skinnies.

Get some skinnies and some ankle boots and it will update you whole look

Skinnies have been the dominant jean shape for the last ten years! How can anyone not at least have tried a pair on by now? All other jean shapes, inc boot cuts, have gone in, out, and in again, in the meantime.

I still think they look like pegs on most people. I'm overweight so its not for me!

I agree a boot cut is probably more flattering on most people, but I think they look really mumsy (sorry I know there was a big thread about mumsy being a horrible sexist word but I can't think of better way of describing what I mean . Frumpy maybe?)

I try and go for a straight leg - I find them more flattering than proper, tight skinny jeans but still modern looking. Something like these

I think there is room for all sorts. Sometimes a bootleg looks best, ESP with shoes or ankle boots. I like skinnies with long boots and a longer top.

I think the whole 'mumsy' thing is just bitchy.

Bit harsh practicality. This is a thread asking our opinion on bootcut jeans, and as I said in my post I'm aware mumsy isn't the best phrasing.
