Zulily

I have seen Zulily advertised on here and decided to give it a go. Was V impressed with website and the products were advertised v well and looked gorgeous. However have just received my parcels and the quality isn't great in nearly all the items (very crumpled and poor quality cotton) and 2 products are different in design to advertised on the site (snowsuit with open feet rather than closed, doll dress missing the doll embellishment). I am also missing an item i have paid for! Am rather disappointed to say the least. What are other people's experiences? Have I just been v unlucky? The returns policy is questionable too, I am still trying to figure out if you can return!

Hi i have ordered a red dress that is ment to be delieved today for a wedding do tonight (dress for my dd) from zulily so i will let you know later.

The same dress is in House of Fraser and i only saved £3 in ordering from Zulily so im not seeing the point right now but i guess they have clothes you cant find on the high street and i like the idea of my dd not wearing what everyone else is.

FarelyKnuts · 10/05/2013 09:55

I have to say anything I have bought has been good quality and as advertised. I haven't tried to return anything though.
Shoes especially have worked out way cheaper than buying them on the high street and like the other poster, I like that you can get stuff that is a bit different for my DD.

Jemimapuddleduk · 10/05/2013 09:57

I must have been unlucky with my choices then! It was the flash sale so maybe was end of line stuff

I've only placed 3 orders, still waiting for 1 of them. The items I've received have been fine so far.

Reastie · 10/05/2013 10:23

I've bought a number of clothes from zulily. Some of the items have been beautiful products of fabulous quality and I've been really pleased with them and repurchased from the brands out of zulily as I've been so pleased, a couple of the bits have been pretty average and I haven't been that pleased with and wish I hadn't bothered tbh, I put that down to unlucky choices.

JazzDalek · 10/05/2013 11:30

I've used them a few times and been happy with my purchases. I suppose though that with them selling various different brands, quality could be hit and miss. I did buy one of the dresses that come with doll dresses - presumably the same brand as you've got - and I was happy with it, not the thickest jersey around but it's pretty and the cut is nice on my DD.

The item you've paid for and not received might be in a separate dispatch. Was it listed as dispatched in this parcel?

DogsDontDoBallet · 10/05/2013 11:37

I find it's a bit hit and miss but some stuff is nice. I have just tried to return something today so fingers crossed that I get a refund. It was a hot milk bra that I was really excited about as couldn't wait to have a nice nursing bra but turned out just to be a normal bra (no flappy down nursing bits) I can't see the original listing now so not sure whether it was my error or they advertised it incorrectly.

Oh and I'm also missing a bit from that order that hasn't been dispatched yet!

LowLevelWhinging · 10/05/2013 11:43

there's so many different makes though that the quality is bound to be variable from brand to brand?

tethersend · 10/05/2013 16:35

Got some amazing Their Nibs dresses for DD from there, so used them again; three weeks later I got an email to say they'd cancelled my order as it was out of stock.

So, er... Mixed feelings really.

AnAirOfHope · 10/05/2013 16:47

The dress turned up and i like it. The fit is big on dd as she is tiny but will grow into it and its a brand i know so is really good.

I think its the same as any online shopping you need to check what you buy. I would say they take longer to delieve up to two weeks than other shops but its worth the discount on some brands.

I also like looking every day for new intresting clothes for my dd as a hobby and buying next size up so she can grow into the clothes, not essentails just nice bits and bobs!

Well, I ordered some Marie chantal dungarees for my ds for a christening. THe christening didn't take place so I returned them.

Sent them back signed because they were expensive.

I thought after a month I hadn't received anything to say the item had been returned, emailed them and said they hadn't received it. Cue mad search for the receipt from post office. Not found.

I was really angry because somebody must have signed for it.

Anyway three months later they emailed saying they had received my item and my refund was being processed.

Four months for a refund!

I haven't ordered again.

Jemimapuddleduk · 12/05/2013 19:20

Well I have just had fantastic customer service in response to my zulily complaint. Refund on items that differed to advertised and a £10 credit. Response within a day to my email complaint!
Going to give them another go and be more selective in my purchasing.
