IPL for wrinkly skin?

OK, so the salon girl did a number on me, and my head was saying no but my vain foolish heart was screaming yes. So tell me, would IPL do the business for de-wrinkling my haggard face? Anyone tried this?

She was doing a number on you. Yes the IPL will stimulate collagen and might reduce the appearance of static fine lines a bit, but if you've got dynamic wrinkles (crows feet lines at outer corners of eyes, or bunny-rabbit lines in nose, or horizontal lines on forehead) then these wrinkles are caused by the facial muscles contracting and no amount of IPL will work on those. The dynamic lines can be resolved with botox and deep static lines can be resolved with filler. They are the default treatments for good reason: they work.

IPL is a nice brightening & rejuvenating treatment for sure but it's not the go-to treatment for wrinkles. If you want objective advice (because that salon girl is not objective, and I'll eat my hat if she has any medical qualifications!) then seeing a doctor who does aesthetic treatments all the time, or a dermotologist, is a far better bet than listening to someone who is trying to sell you the exact thing they just happen to be able to offer.

Find your local aesthetic nurse and ask her advice. Probably botox / fillers may help, or dermaroller =/- peels.
The effect of IPL will be minimal on wrinkles!
