Any ideas for a swimsuit that will give a bit of shape to my uninspiring bosom and not be too unflatering for a pear shape tum, hips an bottom?

I got two great fitting ones in M&S tummy control range last week. I'm size 16, and 34C.

Avoid those bandeau tops - they flatten out your boobs. You need one with extra volume on the top half if poss (ruffles etc). Halternecks are also good and make your boobs look bigger.

The bottoms just need to be simple bikini pants, and reasonably high legged; not those unflattering little shorts (shudder).

I got some really flattering, colourful bikinis from Roxy a few years ago - they might be worth a look.

Oh, I'm in search of this very thing. Needs to be a swimsuit not bikini as its for actual swimming! I'm small on top and would like something flattering. Any ideas?

If need be you could add extra padding in the bust if its for lounging rather than swimming. Although saying that I have sewn in padding to my daughters swimsuit and it stayed put.

Check out the Gossard tropical/floral print bikini pieces which you buy separately. The top is bandeau with halterneck ties but is underwired and padded. The bottoms come in side tie bikini or a lovely 50's style high waisted pant. I am pear shaped with big bum and thighs and small (32B or 34A) boobs. You do need to try on the bikini top as the padding's a bit odd, but once I worked out how to tuck my boobs in the right way it looked really nice.

They are selling quickly in the small boob sizes (I had to get mine from two different shops!), but have a look at Very or House of Fraser. www.very.co.uk/women/gossard/swimwear-beachwear/e/b/1763,4294958590.end

PS there's an all in one swimsuit and a tankini in the range too.
