OP posts:

Morning!

Loving the cobalt and black outfits. Cobalt is one of the few colours I wear, usually with white

I'm deliberating selling this and this

They are both lovely and I have had compliments in both but I don't feel like they are really me. The skirt has an elasticated waist as well, which doesn't go well on my wide midsection! Do you think they will sell on ebay?

If I sell them, my jacket and sandal search can continue!

foxysocks · 09/05/2013 10:32

what size is the skirt, paris? and what material? and how much do you want for it?

Annianni · 09/05/2013 10:42

Poor you Shop... other people's puke is never a good thing.

I feel slightly better, just shattered but when I stand up, I get terrible pressure in my head.
Amazingly I can drive fine... probably because i'm sat down quite still.
I wouldn't drive, especially with the ds's in the car if I didn't feel ok.
But my period started yesterday and due to medical issues atm, they're grim. So i'm housebound for a few days.

Now, dresses etc...

This grey striped is quite nice on, quite a heavy jersey... but the stripes change at my fat tum, so it doesn't look nice.

this colour is fab irl but the gathered waistline does nothing for me. Nice dress though, for anyone without a tum.

black & white stripe is my favourite but the drawstring waist looks daft, I'd remove it if I could, as it looks fab... but the way it's stitched means the stripes are wonky when pulled down straight :(

So if anyone has seen anything similar, but a plain column type then let me know please.

another fab blue colour but that bloody waistline again... Gap please can you make some dresses without the crappy elasticated waists.

blue shorter length hideous on me :o

fab grey maxi skirt love this... smaller size looks fab worn on the hips, and it's down to the top of my feet (i'm 5'7) it's quite straight ish on the thighs, then flares out from my knees. Tried a bigger size which was more flared and did look nice, but was huge on the waist and would drop down with the slightest of toddler tugs :o

lovely white cotton blouse someone has linked this before on here. It's very pretty but too big and I can't be bothered ordering another size.
Might try in store if I see one.

French Connection jacket is quite nice but absolutely enormous... I ordered a 14 and a 16 to try as I wanted it a bit loose, the 16 is here and it drowns me. Wait to see what the 14's like.It looks like a useful jacket for Autumn though.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 09/05/2013 10:44

Foxy You probably wouldn't be impressed, it's viscose but feels like crepe! It doesn't state any size but the waistband measures 28 inches so prob to big for you too Envy. It's long though, trails along the ground on me so I can't wear it. I thought about putting a starting bid of £25 as they seem quite popular.

santamarianovella · 09/05/2013 11:03

Morning all,
Good luck shop
ani, I love the second gap dress,
queen, your DH makes an excellent point.
I might try ordering stuff while DH is busy , foxy, it seems like a good idea, hope it works,
The skirt and dress are really lovely paris and they are in demand,I think they will sell quick,
Enjoy your dc free day marsha,we had one of those a couple of days ago.

Annianni · 09/05/2013 11:34

Decameron dvf on the outnet, alsorts of lovely-ness including scarves.

McNally · 09/05/2013 11:47

Good luck shop. Outfit sounds fab so that's a pretty great start!

Good haul Anni. Agree about the Gap dress waists. Tried a short one on the other day. Wanted to look like this. Actually looked like this. Sad

Annianni · 09/05/2013 11:48

Paris start it at £24-99 instead of 25, it'll be cheaper for you to list it.

Annianni · 09/05/2013 11:52

McNally that's just what I looked like too :o

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 09/05/2013 12:12

Thanks Anni

McNally I spend so long looking for clothes on blogs rather than trying them on myself that I am always quite shocked when I don't look like the 6ft, lean limbed, tanned godesses that I got the ideas from. I never learn!

Decameron · 09/05/2013 12:14

Thanks Anni. I like some of the bags but can't sneak another one in for a while. Great Gap buys. Hope you get well soon.

Novice, DD2 peed on my Me & Em dress the other day, brand new and first time I wore it. At least it is machine washable!

Grey Goldsigns arrived, I've decided my grey Mother jeans are nicer so back they go.

Paris, I didn't go to the Pompeii exhibition, am going to rebook when I don't have to bring DD2 as she is in full toddler mode at the moment. Refusing to get in the pushchair, shouting "My do it myself" and so on. .

foxysocks · 09/05/2013 13:00

just ordered this for £10 delivered. much nicer than the AV one I was looking at on matches and way cheaper. v happy!

santamarianovella · 09/05/2013 13:06

foxy which color did you order,I want the grey one but can't find it .

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 09/05/2013 13:07

Gah! That bloody skort I bought a few weeks ago is everywhere now (apart from Nottingham, the land that style hath forsaken)

I haven't worn it yet, shall I return or run with the fash crown for a while? As I said, Nottingham has failed to recognise the delights of the Zara skort in favour of ill fitting see through leggings.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 09/05/2013 13:08

It's very flattering, might I add!

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 09/05/2013 13:09

I meant crowd, fash crowd

Sleepwhenidie · 09/05/2013 13:17

Hi all, seems its the day for cobalt,I am wearing neon yellow vest, cobalt cashmere and white cropped skinnies (keeping you company on the Eurotrash bench Santa Grin) with silver toed leopard flats and yellow bag.

Eww at puke stories, not good, especially with Armani!

Smile at "my do it myself" Decam, ds2 says "I do it by my own", so sweet when uttered not in tantrum mode anyway

Nice Gap stuff Anni. Paris I'm sure those maxis will sell well. I need to put a load of kids stuff on soon....

Sleepwhenidie · 09/05/2013 13:20

The skort is fab Paris, love that pic with the leopard heels. I have the heels but probably not brave enough to wear with the skort though Smile. I would keep, it's not an investment piece, just enjoy it!

QueenCadbury · 09/05/2013 13:21

Hahahaha!!! I'm just laughing at myself. You know how my last post said that I wasn't going to buy anything else...? Well as I was early for toddler group I thought I'd look at the local boutique. Bought this, a scarlet cardigan and a necklace. Oops Blush. In my defence I had a red cardi on my mental wish list and the necklace is lovely (can't find a similar link anywhere) and is about as statement as I can get, and the top I just loved and will wear lots. As it's yet another navy top, dh probably won't notice. He'll deffo notice the cardi though as it is bright (red lipstick bright but hopefully he won't hate this!).

Will catch up on the other links now...

Sleepwhenidie · 09/05/2013 13:24

Dangerous talk Queen. I have given up making no shopping promises, even to myself! Something you never knew existed will pop up and suddenly it is an essential purchase Grin

foxysocks · 09/05/2013 13:43

it was the grey one santa but looks like might have been the last one in XS, worth checking back occasionally for returns.

Decameron · 09/05/2013 13:45

I like the skort, Paris.

Totally agree on the shopping bans, Sleep. If they were on your list, QueenC, it's a result!

I am wearing cobalt ballets (ballet flats, ballerina shoes, never know what to call them), grey skinny Mother jeans, black IO top and rediscovered Botkier black trigger bag.

Toddler child is asleep, phew!

foxysocks · 09/05/2013 13:45

sleep that sounds fab, I love the yellow/cobalt/white combo will def try that with my white jeans.

queenc cute top, very you! love how we get to know each others styles on here.

keep the skort paris, i like it. you were ahead of the game, obvs.

Sleepwhenidie · 09/05/2013 13:54

Ah hell, now I have seen your blue converse Queen, they are very nice

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 09/05/2013 13:59

Yellow/cobalt/white does sound amazing.

QueenC Love the new top.

I read somewhere that men don't notice how much stuff you have, or anything new as long as they don't trip over it. DH agrees. He also said that he thinks I'm buying more than I am because I agonise over every little thing that I buy so he feels like I'm buying everything I look at, rather than the 1 in 100 things I look at.

His advice to me was 'As long as we're not suffering financially just buy the fucking stuff. You don't have to have my approval, you have good taste, you'll look great, just don't involve me!'

it's different on the rare when he has to buy something though, I have to trail around the shops for hours with him. Luckily I love it!
