Woo hoo! Over here.........

santa my heels are gathering dust I'm afraid. This week I managed to find my lovely Dries Van Noten heels and I wore them for a while but felt very unsteady holding DD. And when DS came home from nursery he looked at me funnily and I couldn't imagine tottering after him in high heels. Smile

shop not sure if I can do roughed up boots, I am quite a classical dresser. I have several pairs of Tod's flats.

santamarianovella · 11/05/2013 20:42

im 5"5 ,and i dont look good with flats wearing them, because of their shape i definitely need extra height or else i look 20lbs heavier.
i have no knowledge of baxters but i think hopefully owns a pair.

shopafrolic · 11/05/2013 20:43

No need to whisper Linus. I never carry DS in heels, too scary and I get scared I'll smack his head when I come downstairs! Give them a try. You're the same size in jeans as me.....

Annianni · 11/05/2013 20:48

I honestly can't remember the last time I wore heels.

I tend to bash ds2's head on the door frame, not the stairs...

:o

santamarianovella · 11/05/2013 21:05

im in no danger of bashing my DD head ,not tall enough to do it Grin.
but i could never wear high heels on an outing with her. dont know how victoria becks can do it!
ani DH,bashes the dcs head all the time, he blames it on our low door frame .
linus back i love tods too,

shopafrolic · 11/05/2013 21:06

That's why I don't wear statement necklaces, I nearly knocked DS out once at playgroup!

linus I'd say the batters are true to size, verging on large. I bought a 30" waist because I didn't want white sausage legs effect, and they are a shade big really - slipping down by the end of two days' wear. I am about a 12, but not a big 12 iykwim.

Hopefully · 11/05/2013 21:18

Oh, and I have 28"s and they fit well, but don't have any room for weight gain!

QueenCadbury · 11/05/2013 21:34

santa vb does it because I'm sure that once she's way from the cameras she puts flats on Grin

AmberNectarine · 11/05/2013 21:48

The Paige boyfriend are phenomenally flattering. I am an hourglass, admittedly a smallish size 10 one, but theoretically they shouldn't work on me. They do though. I don't observe any real rules, other than what I wear on top can't be completely shapeless. Today I wore them with a loose fit boyfriend shirt, which looked good because it had some tailoring, I can't wear them with an oversized tee, but they work well with a fitted sweatshirt. I also think the length of top is important - I keep mine to about hip length, no longer. Shoe -wise I like them with ankle-boots, pointy flats, superga or sandals. They also look great with heels.

AmberNectarine · 11/05/2013 21:51

Enough jeans ranting. Just back from the pub with DH where I wore my Charity shop bargain silk dress, grunged up with opaques, pistols and a black leather biker. Took neon orange Zatchels saddle bag for colour. Really liked it as a look, as did DH.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 11/05/2013 22:43

I find Baxters true to size and they're not too tight either, ie spray-on skinny. I'm very Envy at the boyfriend jeans wearers. At little more than 5'1 it's a look I've never even bothered trying, but I love it on taller people. Of course I used to wear men's Levis 501s back in the 80s when I weighed about 7 stone, cinched in with a belt, but it wouldn't quite look like that any more. Oh, to be 18 and skinny...

santamarianovella · 11/05/2013 23:11

i think i might start doing that queen.

Portia4 · 11/05/2013 23:18

Grumpy I love the clutch that you have linked to, but can't see on their sight if they ship to Europe? Do you mind me asking if you are buying the bag online or are they stocked in shops in Europe?

Another Pink peonies fan here! Love all the links!

LinusDKD · 12/05/2013 08:27

Good morning!

Thanks for all the jeans advice. I might try Baxters in a size 30 (or am I being too optimistic? Still traumatised by most jeans I tried on yesterday not even passing my thighs)

Amber I will have a look at those Paige boyfriends you mention.

LinusDKD · 12/05/2013 08:33

DH just came downstairs after his shower smelling of the TF perfume I bought yesterday! Hmm

I guess now we know who is going to wear it. Luckily the lovely perfume lady gave me some samples to try so I guess I will put one of those on.

Hopefully · 12/05/2013 09:11

Linus I missed which TF perfume you bought? Reading descriptions of a few they sound more me than most girly perfumes, but have never actually made the effort to try. Can't remember which one I particularly liked the sound of, of course.

Does anyone know when the NAP sale starts? Have my eye on something.

Have just tried on my Zara skort, love it. I'm going to make it work hard as suspect it will be one of those one-season-wonders.

santamarianovella · 12/05/2013 09:25

hopefully had a look through my old emails, last year it started on 18th june.

LinusDKD · 12/05/2013 11:01

hopefully I bought the Neroli Portofino and I love it so I might still wear it (on days DH doesn't wear it because smelling the same as him would just be wrong).

It just smells so summery and reminds me of childhood holidays in Italy but I can't tell you anything else about it as I know very little about perfumes.

I just know I like floral scents with a twist. At the moment I am wearing Serge Lutens 'A la nuit' (I think jasmine based) and Serge Lutens 'Fleurs d'Organger' (orange blossom based) and I have loved those for years and keep buying them again and again.

The TF samples I have a the moment are 'Jonquille de Nuit' and 'Ombre de Hyacinth' and I am waiting to see how they smell on me to decide if I like them.

In the shop they also had 'Jasmin Rouge' which smelled gorgeous but I already have a jasmin based perfume so didn't get a sample of that.

Sorry for hijacking the thread talking about perfume!

pickledsiblings · 12/05/2013 11:39

How were the macarons Linus?

I had a big catch up last night and then lost a biggish post. Suffice to say the surreptitious links made me lol and it's good to hear that you are all supporting each other in both S&B and beyond.

Congrats OneLittleLady on your Shred efforts.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 12/05/2013 12:24

Portia unfortunately Lilly Pulitzer don't ship internationally - I think Alaska and Hawaii are about as far as they go. I'm lucky in that a friend has agreed to take delivery of a couple of items for me in California and send them to me himself. I usually use my parents for this, but they spend the summer in the UK, so no help to me this time! It's so annoying when you find something you like and can't get it delivered, although you can often find a way - have you tried ebay.com or amazon.com (ie American sites)?

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 12/05/2013 12:33

Shopstyle stock quite a decent range of Lilly Pulitzer for the UK - can't see the clutch on there at the moment, but it may be worth checking in now and again to see if they do get it as we get further into summer

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 12/05/2013 12:39

Sorry for the multiple posts, but I've found it on amazon.com and they will ship internationally, although I don't know how much s&h would be.

Portia4 · 12/05/2013 13:47

Thanks Grumpy, will check it out.

santamarianovella · 12/05/2013 14:19

i think most tom fords perfume are unisex, just like annick goutal.
