I am usually extremely pale skinned with very dark brown hair and brown eyes. I always wear a sunscreen even in winter (yes, I take a vitamin D supplement). My current fave is Ultrasun 50+. I have a very active lifestyle and cycle everywhere so am outside a lot (hence the sunscreen).

Given the recent beautiful weather, I've suddenly got a tan - first time in ages and am slowly going darker everyday. I have very good skin for my age so I don't absolutely need a foundation but I usually wear a bit of concealer for dark rings, etc.

Given my lifestyle, I will no doubt be getting a deeper tan on my face even with sunscreen so I'm hesitant to replace my Estee Lauder double wear foundation because it won't be the right colour in a few weeks time (if the lovely weather holds).

My question is this: what can I wear over my ultrasun sunscreen that will give me a bit of a finished look but can be flexible re colour.

I don't want a tinted moisturiser because the sunscreen is moisture enough. I also don't need mattifying because ultrasun dries to a matt finish. Should I use translucent powder?

Advice would be much appreciated!

You should consider a translucent powder and bronzer if you are happy with the condition of your skin. Go to a couple of the make up concessions in Boots/dept store and ask them to try a few options. I personally would consider Clinique, Clarins or MAC but depends on your budget etc.

I own two colours of my foundation and I blend for the right colour depending on the season.

Or you could try mineral foundation, if you only use a tiny bit it gives a hint of colour without the caking into pores problem. Bare minerals is a bit of a rip off, you could try lily lolo (they do tiny sample sized pots to check for colour).

TM isn't actually very moisturising btw, so it may work for you.

As orbis says, most tinted moisturisers have basically zero moisturising effect, so should be fine over sunscreen.

Have you tried La Roche Posay Anthelios tinted moisturiser? It's SPF50.

Why are you wearing Doublewear if you have good skin? It's super thick coverage Envy

Yes, tried La Roche Posay - not quite the right colour for me and also ends up shiny.
I use double wear as a concealer - lasts an age and stays put!
