Bra intervention - have I got this right?

Hi - I'm new, hope its ok to come straight on with a question....I Somehow stumbled across one of the bra intervention threads a couple of weeks ago and have been following them in amazement ever since.

I've always worn an A cup (32/34 pre pregnancy, currently 36A) - never been measured professionally but always done it myself based on the "add 4 or 5 inches" rule. I have pretty much constant back ache and neck pain but never ever imagined this could be caused by boobs as they really are so tiny!

But after reading your fascinating threads, I think I should be a 30/32D! My measurements are 31 under bust, 35 at fullest point when bending over to 90 degrees, and 34 above. Have I got that right? If so I am truly truly in shock that my almost-not-there boobs are a D!!

Thanks

Actually, it might not be worth bothering with the E! Try an F/FF/G. You are probably one of those people who needs a bigger bra than your measurements suggest. Do you think you have fairly shallow boobs that are quite wide on your chest?

Hello, could anyone kindly link to the 'how to do it' guide? I can't seem to find it and I am sure I am wearing the wrong size bra!

Just measured myself and I am a 30 under bust and a measly 33 over it!

TIA

Here you go

I am eagerly awaiting my figleaves order today. have been wearing a 34A , measure 29 under and 32 over . so i will have a few different sizes to try on and perhaps find my perfect bra !

Whitecat · 17/07/2013 13:35

My most comfy bra is a Marie Jo 32E which was recommended by Rigby & Peller and I thought it fit properly. Then being curious about so many transformations on the bra threads I scooped and now I can see the cups are definitely too small.
Measurement around ribcage is 32.5, measurement bending is 40.5. My boobs don't project very far but are quite wide. Should I be looking for 32FF/G?

OneLittleLady · 17/07/2013 13:37

I think so yes whitecat

Whitecat · 17/07/2013 14:26

Thanks OneLittleLady I'll have a delve on the web.

marriednotdead · 20/07/2013 09:13

whitecat Marie Jo sizing is strange (generous with missing letters!), but IIRC their cups would be the right shape for you as they are wide set. It may be a case of trying a cup or two bigger rather than aiming for the specific measured size.

Fantasie Salsa and Tutti Rouge Lilliana are the widest based bras I have seen recently.

DeliciousIrony · 23/07/2013 12:22

Ooh, I should have listened! I ordered two bras in a 28E, couldn't believe that I could be any bigger cup size than that and exected to not be able to squeeze into a 28 band size...

Well, the 28 band is fine! Snug but comfortable, and gives me less back/armpit fat than other bras I have tried on in bigger bands. The cups are a bit too small, so will try a 28F/FF. Hats off to you guys, you know your stuff. And to think I have been wearing 34Ds....

StatisticallyChallenged · 23/07/2013 12:25

don't worry delicious it happens all the time. People always order the smallest cup we suggest cos it sounds scarily big!

Hmm. Now, the 38JJ should be the equivalent of a 36K roughly. I remember there was a lot of trying on, but my memort fails beyond that!

www.bravissimo.com/products/lingerie/#/1?show=all&back=36&cup=k this is the current selection of Bravissimo K cups. Can you remember which of these you have tried? What size were the Melodies again? (I know you altered them)

I remembered that - just couldn't quite remember what you had tried although I knew the Alana was grim. I suspect it is just all wrong for your boobs! I have a feeling the Melody full cup runs small but I wouldn't swear to it. Hopefully married will be along soon - I'll PM her.

I have heard a lot of very good things about the Jasmine

I don't think Freya will work. Their wires aren't that strong - even in my 30HH/J I find some of them a bit...lacking. I would think in general that Panache or Bravissimo are likely to be better. I like the look of the Elomi though

So I've been fitted by Bravissimo for a number of years now and weirdly my back size went down after having DC ? I was always a 32 before, how does that work?

I was measured not long after finishing BF and was 30F/FF depending on the bra. I went back a few months later as thought they would have shrunk a bit but no they were happy with the fit.

Recently I've been thinking my bras feel too small so measured myself today and my back was 29 (this fits with what the Bravissimo lady said as she thought I might be a 28 but actually the 30 fit fine). But the over breast measurement was 40!!!!

So that makes me a 30H????

How can my boobs have grown since stopping BF? I was a 32E before 2 DC!

StatisticallyChallenged · 23/07/2013 21:22

Somewhere around a 30GG/H would seem likely - how small do the 30FF feel in the cup?

Boob growth is a funny old thing - sometimes they just expand! Pill or hormonal contraception can be a common culprit

HaplessHousewife · 23/07/2013 21:32

I spend quite a lot of time poking my bigger boob back into my bra Blush.

No hormones to put it down to. I have put on about half a stone, maybe it's all in my boobs (I wish).

I'll have to try and head up to London and get some even bigger bras Shock.

IDoAllMyOwnStunts · 23/07/2013 21:46

For years I've been wondering about my spillage and why my nipples don't stay in my bra.

I've been wearing a 36B since I was about 18 (mid 40s now). Just measured a 33 underneath and 39 bending over across boobs. Should I try 34DD? Or a 32F? Have I got that right? Sounds massive?!

StatisticallyChallenged · 23/07/2013 21:58

Idoallmyownstunts - try a 32F, 32e, 34e and 34dd
