Skinceuticals Retinol 0.5%

I have been using this for a week now, at first my skin had no reaction to this cream, but this morning I woke up with red blotchy skin. I have put tons of moisturiser and sunscreen on but the red blotches are still there. Has anyone else experienced this? hope it's not going to be permanent

Yes the ce ferulic is beautiful, tiny bit goes a long way. My skin looks smooth and fresh. .
