We are going on hols soon and i need a new bikini. I look like a boy in the triangle type, so I think I'm going to have to go with a padded top but I can't get out shopping much so I need to be very focused on my one day of holiday clothes shopping for me and the kids!

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm 34 and size 8.

Thanks

Gel filled bikinis here : bit pricey but look great!

What's your bra size wren?

MrsLettuce · 02/05/2013 00:57

very pretty. Seems to have oopmh
again with some oomph
like this a lot also in black and a red print

MrsLettuce · 02/05/2013 01:07

long line

Think Debenhams have a sale in swimwear at the moment. They have loads of styles and sell tops and bottoms separately.

VillaVillekulla · 02/05/2013 09:12

Bandeau styles are great for slim/more boyish figures. Wish I could get away with one Envy.

Frills are meant to be good too but I guess it depends on whether or not you like frills. Have you checked out ASOS? They have some great own brand swimwear.

wrenster · 02/05/2013 21:37

Wow, some great suggestions, thanks everyone especially Mrs Lettuce :-)

I like almost all links, so I guess it's about going and trying them on now and seeing which make me look least like a boy!

I hadnt even considered ASOS either, so will def have a look on there and I can try them on at home.

Thanks for narrowing my search, fingers crossed I can get it all done in the one day.

I think the george range is brilliant. Love this one in particular they also do some boost 2 cup sizes ones too.

PenelopePipPop · 02/05/2013 23:29

Bit of a different tack but I'm the same size as you and get bikinis from Bikini Shack. If you aren't keen on the triangle style you might find some alternatives made by Roxy. I've found the sizing pretty accurate and the service good.

wrenster · 03/05/2013 07:11

I love that spotty one too Penelope! I will pop to Asda and see what they have. Bikini shack looks great too - just to make a decision now! Thanks again

Hi

I'm a pear shape with very small boobs (32 A)
I get really depressed when I try swimwear on because I feel a lot of bikinis/tankinis make my chest look even flatter :(

Anyway, recently discovered Next 'wow bra' which is one of those bras that makes you look up to 2 sizes bigger and they do a bikini version and even tankini I think.

I'm going to get the wow bikini top and just use the black swim shorts I already have

SorrelForbes · 03/05/2013 12:51

xTillyx At the risk of sounding very rude, are you absolutely sure you're a 32A? Have you visited the bra threads? It's just that many, many women come on to the threads sayiung they're a 34A or 32AA and turn out to be a 28DD or a 30C. A properly fitting, underwired, bikini can make a huge difference to your shape.

Just saying...

middleagedspread · 03/05/2013 17:12

I am in exactly the same situation, but I'm also getting long in the tooth.
I'm a 34A.
I've had Ultimo gel filled bikinis, they look fine but are very heavy.
Next are good, but I find the bottoms too skimpy for my pear shaped bum.
Lepel are lovely, I've had nice spotty ones in past years, but this years prints are a bit bleugh.
I reckon the George ones look great, and a fab price too.
Let us know if you find any others.

xTillyx · 03/05/2013 21:43

I've not been measured properly for a long time,I did an online size converter last week as I've been to embaressed to go anywhere, would love to think I'm hiding a D cup.lol. Will have to check that thread out

SorrelForbes · 03/05/2013 21:54

Most of the online calculators are wildly wrong.

Annang · 30/11/2013 16:36

I find something with moulded cups particularly twist bandeau bikinis help make my chest look larger. Something like the below links
