Hi, i'm looking for a cocktail/on the knee dress for dds school prom. Shes a young looking 16 and not a fan of low cuts or merangue type dresses.
Think she looks a bit like audrey hepburn, cary mulligan that kind of thing.Size 8 5'2"
Shes stumped and what shes looking for isnt in the local shops. Her bests friends are all different sizes but definitvely not elphin.

Any ideas, anyone?

Thank you for all your help. Its very very kind.
DD2 is rather conservative in her taste (hence my need for advice) and in the end bought a dark blue, on the knee floaty number, which was more that I wanted to spend but she really liked it (and is very cheap to live with in other waysSmile).
I could see the influence of the duchess of cambridge everywhere, which was a real block on getting anything nice(-cant wait for the end of that particularly middle age style to end).
Thanks again, I can always get good advice from you lot Wink

Sounds lovely I dread my Dad prom she already thinks tiny lipsy dresses and impossibly high platform like strippers wear are the height of glamour and sophistication!

Google nexus arrgh DD prom not Dad prom, my Dad is a Jamaican with dreads he would look positively odd in aforementioned outfit :-)

Next had quite a few small size lipsy dresses on their website in the sale.

Monsoon do a trendy range, fusion or something that often has pretty funky dresses in.

This is youthful , fresh and a bit different without being revealing (I think) and from what you say would suit your dd's style, size, height...
