Bra problem - can some one help me work out my size?

Hi All

Sorry but I have a quick question

I have a Bravisimo bra fitted under 3 months ago that doesn´t fit anymore and I need to order a new one online!

Current bra is a 38F which I can easily pull about 6 to 7 inches off of my back on the tightest fitting and Its keeps riding up. My boobs are also near my wasit most of the time! Virtually no support from the band at all at.

Cup size is pretty good, But I do still have an extra bit of boob both under my arms and round the sides! oh if I look in a mirror the cup seems to "drag" my boobs down a bit more

I have measure under bust at 34 inches

What sizes should I order?

PS. its not bravisimos fault this bra fitted very well at the time, its just that I am losing weight still and it seems to have made a real difference to the bar size over the last couple of years. I keep going down in band size and up and down in cup size.

Your band size is 34, same as measurement. You need to measure the fullest part of the breast. Each inch difference is a cup size.

You need to close the bra on the loosest hooks and use the tighter ones as the elastic wears.

34G would keep the cup the same size. It could feel loose around the top and sides because the back is too big. If someone stood behind you and pulled the back tight for you, would the cup feel like it fits, or still have a it of spillage? If spillage, go up to a 34gg

Measuring fully part doesn't work for me because the shape of my boobs isn't necessarily the shape of the fullest part of the bra iyswim so trial and error is best (but annoying)

You are a 34 band, and then to work out your cup size, take your bra off, bend over at 90' and then measure loosely round the fullest part of your norks. You can then count up the cup sizes

You say that the cup fits but there is still boob under your arms and at the sides. If you scoop this tissue into the cup, does it still fit or is it too small?

And if a 38 band is 6-7 inches too big then surely a 34 will still be too big? I measure 31.5 under bust and wear a 30 band as a 32 is too loose .

I realise there is more stretch in a 38 band than a 30 as there is more elastic and less fixed

KristinaM is right, you might be one of those people who has a squishy torso and therfore needs to size down below your actual measurement. Have a look at StatiscallyChallenged's bra blog for more measuring and fitting advice.

Oh you lovely lot!

I do have a slight squish torso (lots of lose skin from all the weight loss)

If someonw pulls the back the cups seem to small!

I can´t scoop as there is just no tension in the bra if that make sence?

Oh and if I lean over 90 degrees my boobs are huge and I lose a lot of side weight? IYSWIM??? I seem a lot narrower in a rib cage.

I have to size down in the band but I don't have a squishy torso!What I do have is one breast set significantly higher than the other, that combined with a 'flared' ribcage means I usually need to go down one, two or even 3 band sizes, depending on the bra.

A couple of questions for you. Which bra style are you wearing? And where is any gaping/bulging occurring?

It sounds as if you have lost some of the volume in your boobs because of the weight loss, which means some styles will no longer suit you.

Most ridiculous thing I have ever done!

Ok if I lean over at 90degrees, my underband measurements goes down to 33inches, my over bust is 12inches bigger at 45inches.

Hope that means something to someone and I didn´t just lean over and measure in the freezing cold bathroom for nothing! Wink

Ok I am wearing this exact bra fantasie I only have two and they are both this style as my shape has been changing so often there didn´t seem any point is getting anything nice Sad

But I do like them to have a decent ish width at the side and back

If there is a better style / shap please feel free to recommend!

Try sizes around 32H & HH. At 33 under you probably do need to size down to a 32, especially if you've lost weight and are continuing to do so, and you may want to try a J cup to if much of your breast tissue is being squished around to the side of your rib cage. You'll need some vigorous and repeated scooping to train it all back in.

The bulging is between the bra strape and under arm. and under the arm pit in general.

Oddly the fit is much better if I grab hold of the underbust (under my boobs) and shuv the whole thing up wards by about an 1.5 inches. if I then lean forward everything boob wise is spiling out of the cup but the tissue is where is belongs. Does anyone understand what I mean ????

I think that means trying around the 32J and 34HH sizes? But do read the fitting guide Sorrel linked to, it is excellent.

Current cup is definitely far too small and back far too big from what you describe. Your breast tissue is being forced around the side because the cup is too small, and the cups are falling down because the back is way too big and is not holding the cup up. As we've said above, try sizes around 32HH & J. Currently your bra is both 3 bands too big and 3 cups to small, so that's six sizes of wrongness!

Put the bra on and fasten it. Lean forward and put your right hand inside the left cup and hook it all upwards. Scoop all the breast tissue from under your arm back into the cup.

Is the cup now overflowing ? You need a larger cup size . That's why the girls are suggesting a 32J or similar, as a 38F is the same cup as a 36EE , a 34E and a 32 DD.

Ok, I have done that cup is a over flowing and b the band is no not touching me under the boob at all!

Can some one recommend the right kind of style then, as well.

Sorry I am so useless at this, But it is such a pain with my shap changing all of the time I have no idea what stlyes might work!
