I get cold. And I live in Scotland.

I need a coat that zips / buttons right up, can go over a cardi, but that looks summery.

Where should I look? Links greatly appreciated...

TIA

I need a summer jacket as well.

For some reason not all the links are working for me, the fat face one just takes me to their home page?

Quite like the sea salt one but that col our makes me look washed out.

Think I want a coat rather than a foldaway, but what do you think?

Ooh good thread. I really want something waterproof with a hood and stylish. Seems that's not impossible to find!

Gap looks promising. Quite like this bit boring though?

Or this is bargainous...

suebfg · 28/04/2013 10:31

I have tried the Hobbs purple mac in real life and it looked odd without a collar to it. Shame as it was a lovely colour but I had to return it :(

KatyS36 · 28/04/2013 19:10

Thanks ness for the john lewis suggestion. Tried it on and bought it today.

Absolutely perfect for work - what I have been looking for for 4 years :-)

Now want the joules one for casual though!

Oh - now I really want the fatface charlie utility jacket - I have a penchant for those things. Somebody talk me out of it. I should never have opened the link.

IntheFrame · 28/04/2013 20:35

Desigual? No hoods though- windproof and looks lovely in park or in town.

cheaper ones!

tassisssss · 28/04/2013 20:36

I like the joules ones a lot (though it's depressing that a quilted jacket counts for a spring/summer one!). There are pink/purple versions on ebay.

nulgirl · 28/04/2013 20:42

I have the red Hobbs trench coat that a couple of people have mentioned. I love love love it. I wear it for work but also to the park with jeans. It is such a statement colour that I don't have to bother making an effort with the rest of my outfit - think jeans and plain black, white, grey tshirt.

Have had a link through all the links again... and just not seeing anything that i want to really consider.

I'm looking for shorter length...bright colour or a bold pattern...in a fabric that is not just a plain cotton. I don't think one actually exists. But, if you do come across one in your travels, please report back! Thank you!

tassisssss · 01/05/2013 19:35

ebayebayebayebay...you bidding on that one I PMed you about??

Actually I think you could rock the first M&S one...and I promise not to tell anyone it's from the old lady classic range!

ja9 · 01/05/2013 22:57

tassisssss, not sure. It is a contender, but it just lacks a certain something...! A hood maybe? Or a different fabric...

now considering this

and this...
