Prescription Sunglasses - recommendations please?

Any recommendations for the best place for a good range of frames for prescription sunnies? I did look in Specsavers last year but, whilst their lenses looked good, they had a very small selection of frames (might just have been my local store though). Want fashionable but which won't date and happy to pay a bit!

Dollond & Aitchison (or Boots as they are now). Loads of nice shades and designer ones. Plus you get advantage card points!

I just got a brilliant pair from Adsa of all places. They are not branded, but they look a bit like the ones Kathryn Jenkins wore at The London Marathon. I got them in a deal which was something like £120 for a pair of specs and a pair of prescription sunnies. I am really pleased with them so far.

You need to check that your Asda has an opticians, not all of them do. It's been a total find as far as I'm concerned - DH went on my recommendation and got a pair of varifocals and a pair of sunnies for about half the price of one pair of varifocals in Specsavers.

I had some really nice ones from Specsavers a few years ago but they fell apart (literally, the arm fell off) and they were really crap about fixing/refunding them Angry. I've got some ok ones from Boots now.

IME, prescription sunglasses frames often look lovely in the shop but somehow once the prescription lens is in, they look different and not as nice. Kind of flatter if that makes sense? I'm always really disappointed in how my prescription sunglasses turn out. Maybe it's just me.

I got some prescription ray bans from selectspecs online for about £100..mind you I've only worn them twice since I bought them last summer as the weather was so bad!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I will go to a big chain and have a look - but also ask to see a pair which have had the prescription lense put in. It would be a sin to spend the money and then not like them. Had to drive home in strong sunlight this evening and need something!

I have dark lenses in normal frames, very similar to my ordinary specs, from Specsavers. I did have a pair of their sunglass frames once, but there was something about the way they curved at the side which did not work with my lenses (which are fairly strong), it made everything distorted.

DD got prescription sunglasses from specsavers they said we could choose any frame in the store and they would put sunglasses lenses in them
