Nice showerproof spring/summer jacket/coat.

Im on the lookout for a nice spring summer jacket or coat. I do a lot of walking with the pushchair so would like it to be at least showerproof and need a hood so I don't look like a drowned rat when it has rained. I wear a lot of longline tops/cardigans so need it to be around mid/high calf length. I spent last year wearing a regatta mac as I couldn't find anything and want to avoid that again.

I bought a lovely Boden showerproof floral raincoat last year. I'm 5'3" and it comes to mid-thigh on me - fastens with a zip AND chunky buttons over the top, good sized hood (can't faff with a brolly and small children / buggy / book bags). It cost about £85 which I felt was a lot - but I feel so beautiful in it, and life is too short to wear sensible anoraks! Plus last year I wore it at least weekly throughout our great British 'summer' so at least I got my money's worth
