Another Babyliss Big Hair Thread...

It?s payday, and after reading a million reviews, I?ve finally decided I?m going to invest in a Babyliss Big Hair.

I have very very fine hair, flat as a pancake, with a fringe that I?m trying to grow out. Current hair length is just past my shoulders, and some quite short layers at the top/back which I?m trying to grow down a bit.

I?m toying with the idea of a ?shoulder skimming? bob at my next visit to the hairdressers, in my endless quest to make my hair look a bit thicker.

So which BBH should I go for ? the 42mm or the 50mm? Does it really matter? Will I get just as good results with either? I don?t want to splash out the best part of £50 and end up with a yet another useless hair gadget gathering dust at the bottom of the wardrobe.

DrGoogle I have got a Babyliss Big Hair that I don't use - I have got far too much hair for it to handle! You can have it if you want it! Another MN'er actually gave it to me, and I always said if I didn't like it I would pass it on...well its been gathering dust in a drawer for months now...so it's yours if you want it!

No worries, just send me your address and I'll get it posted off to you in the next couple of days. I ahven't got any instructions or anything but there's loadsof videos on YouTube. I've got masses of hair and it was just too difficult for me to use, I think it will be great for finer hair!

But seeing as though DrGoogle has the exact same hair as me, how will I ever know if I should get one?

itstheyearzero I can't message you for some reason... I don't know whether it's my settings or yours?

In the spirit of itstheyearzero's generosity, I'd like to offer out a Babyliss Root Crimper and a Babyliss Shape and Smooth Airstyler to anyone that would want them. The root crimper is obviously for fine hair, and the airstyler would probably suit someone with short-ish and not too thick hair.

I have a chin length bob with thick hair and have the 50mm. It's brilliant, i couldn't live without it now. It stops my hair frizzing up and looking like a crash helmet!

I bought the 50 mm one the day before yesterday and it's great. I have fine hat below my shoulders and I get the same effect as if I'd used Velcro rollers. I love it!

I have one and fine hair. I don't use it often, as it pulls a bit of hair out, which is terribly disconcerting when you're already paranoid about hair loss. It's ok, as far as gadgets go. I'm not good at spending time on my hair, so patience is required to do it justice. It does make my hair a bit static-y and the bit of volume it gives drops out after an hour or so.

Was lurking to see if it's worth my while buying one - and just have to say - Itstheyearzero is the loveliest MNer ever:) She sent me a soft toy (cow!) so DS1 could have a spare of his favourite, she is a lifesaver:)

someone please help me! I bought a BBH and just can't figure out how to get it to work for me. I have thick, shoulder length hair cut in layers. It has a bit of a kink to it but using my GHDs can leave it looking a bit flat. I thought the BBH would help get a bit more volume into it but I can't seem to get an even effect all the way round. I am a bit cack handed and seem to keep pressing the button when I dont mean to or rollling it up the wrong way and it all goes horribly wrong!
Is it just me??

Cow is good, she has gone throigh the washing machine a few times and lived to tell the tale. In fact, she is indinguishable from original cow now, which is fab. One of the cows is going camping in Wales with DS and his grandparents soon, and it's a relief to have a back up!:)

It did itstheyearzero, thank you so much! I sent you a pm on Monday? I haven't tried it out yet, I've been studying the tutorials on you tube as I'm not great at doing my own hair. Planning to try it on Saturday when I've got plenty of time to cut my tangled hair out of the scary rotating brush

I've sent out the two things I was giving away, they should arrive with you guys that wanted them, any day now.

I have very very thick coarse wavy frizzy shoulder length hair which I have to straighten everyday. I'm just wondering whether it'd be worth me trying a bbh? Or whether it'll be left in the drawer for the next 5 years!

I wouldn't bother awaywego. Your hair sounds like mine and it really didn't work for me. Far too much hair it all gets tangled up
