Maxi skirts

In town today they were lots of maxi skirts in shops both floral and plain some rather nice but what would you wear on the top with them

Was thinking maybe vest top?

I wear a slightly cropped top, or a simple vest, sometimes with a delicate long sleeved lace top. I think it's best to keep it quite simple. A stripy tee can look nice with a plain one too.
