what's good?

i need new serum, day cream and cleanser. I don't particularly like the stuff i'm using up (S&G). the time i was happiest with my skin was when i used eve lom but those ££ days are long gone!

I have dry skin that flushes easily, with a tendency to soreness/spots around the chin and nose (esp in run up to my period)

was thinking of trying LRP dermo cleanser along with cicaplast as a day cream?

also is the serum any good? it's £29! but if it's totes fab will bite the bullet and purchase

LRP Effaclar foaming face wash and Effaclar AI completely sorted out my hormonal jawline breakouts. But don't go overboard with salicylate-based products if you have dry skin - they can be very drying. My skin is naturally quite dry and I hydrate it and control the flakiness with Eucerin Urea Cream (the best face moisturizer I've found - overnight relief for tightness and flaking) or one of the lighter LRP moisturizers. I also use Anthelios sunblock every day.

I used to be a religious serum user but am not so sure any more - the routine described above has resulted in really good skin. I have mild rosacea too (mid-face flushing, sometimes ocular rosacea symptoms) - wind, splashing with water and cold weather generally really bad for my skin. Too many products are generally a no-no for people with rosacea, so I try to keep my routine as simple as possible.

yes, mild rosacea sounds like me too. luckily i am quite minimalist by nature in terms of my skin routine. will have a look at eucerin too. have got some NY rose oil coming tomorrow for overnight use, i had a tester pot last week and it was absolutely brilliant.

I have been using LRP Nutritic for years following the advice of my dermatologist. But they have updated it recently(and added 8 euros to the price tag), and that has resulted in a resurgence of my ocular rosacea. I am now using Cicaplast , but my skin feels tight so I am interested in your Eucerin Frugal. Which one would you advise?

Foxy I get a really red nose with dry patches at the sides in the run up to my period. Getting worse the nearer I get to the menopause I think. Am thinking mild rosacea. About 10 days ago I started using La Roche Posay Rosaliac skin perfecting anti redness moisturiser and liking it so far. It says not to use in the eye area so need something to moisturise there as it's feeling/looking a bit dried out. But my face feels more comfortable since using the La Roche stuff and I think I am going to get some more things in that range.

Cicaplast is brilliant for dry/sore patches but probably not as a day cream. I have dry skin and use Hydraphase Riche.

Pink I use this Eucerin. My ocular rosacea flareup was triggered by at least two separate things 1) super cold and dry winter air and 2) a suddenly developed contact allergy to my mascara and undereye concealer. My eyes felt gritty and red and had little bumps along the lid rims. I had to revamp my makeup completely.

Oh and quite a few rich creams cause milia around my eyes - another reason why I'm trying to revert to simpler routines and shorter ingredient lists. Eucerin doesn't, the urea is an exfoliant (lots of technical info here) and can be used to treat milia in fact.

Foxy yes checked the facewash - Purifying foaming gel for oily skin! My skin is never oily, I can't recall ever having had problems with shine - lizard skin is much more me. Worth reading MUA reviews first of course - some find it too drying.

Pink rosacea skin can be very finicky so don't despair if Eucerin is no good. Good guidelines here. If alcohol is a strong trigger for you read ingredient lists be careful with alcohol-based products.

My skin absolutely hates splashing with water and scrubs are super-irritating, but I was really surprised to find that salicylates and urea work well on me (from the outset I wouldn't have thought so).

The demodex theory of rosacea is worth looking into as well.
