If you are tall and buy from the higher end High St brands what works for you please?

I've been pregnant or BF for 3.5 years, I just had my second and last baby 6 months ago. So I have two very young children and will begin weaning onto solids the second this week. I also recently turned 40. As soon as I drop one more dress size (get back to a size 10) and back to normal, I want to rethink my wardrobe and kind of start over. It suddenly looks so old or...actually too young for me.

I'd like to buy fewer good quality classic bits that will last me. A friend has suggested looking at Hobbs, Reiss, LK Bennett, Whistles etc. I will need to order online and dont know if these have the length in the arm/leg for me. I really like knee length or longer in a skirt also.

Any suggestions are welcome to get me started (Except for skirts which are too short Zara was always my go to but I just dont get their stuff right now, I must be too old)

I'd also love to know if anyone is able to make a capsule wardrobe work for them but that may be another thread...

I'm 5.11 and have an amazing pair of lk Bennett boots which are knee high amazing! I can never normally get theongg enough.

I think reiss trousers are a good length but the dresses I have are a bit short.

Mint Velvet trousers and tops are also a good length. I'll keep thinking as appreciate your problem.

Have you looked at Long Tall Sally. I haven't shopped there myself but my mum who is 5'10 always shops there. I find buying premium brands for jeans/trousers better in terms of leg length. Also try Jaeger.

I'm 5'9 and while I don't have a capsule wardrobe (i don't think? wtf is that anyway?) i do try to buy less stuff of better quality.

my go to shops/brands atm are

the outnet - GREAT for jeans and jackets and knitwear
me and em - boyfriend tees very long, and the long sleeved tops are good too
asos - trainers, sweaters, tshirts, anything really
cos - have full virtual basket here just deliberating on pressing purchase
whistles - tees and tops excellent
all saints - mostly cut for tall and skinny so perfect for me
j crew - tees lovely, want to try their shirts next

i always shop in sales or with good discount codes. I invest in jeans, trainers, coats and jackets as they all get a beating. then look for good deals on scarves, tees, knitwear.

I'm 5'10 and find a lot of the long length jeans and trousers from Boden fit me well, also the long length dresses as well. I'm 33-34 inside leg and wear flattish shoes.

I've also had tops, knitwear and coats from there as well but you do have to read the reviews to get an idea of length and sleeve length.

IME Hobbs and LK are for shorter people.

Reiss ok for longer as is Jigsaw.

MV tops do seem to be a good length.

Lts is one I've long avoided as it seemed expensive bit boring and actually too long (I also feel like a freak having to go to a specialist shop!!) maybe I should look again though.

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt what is mv please as I do find tops a problem.

I find Karen Millen and French Connection jeans and trousers excellent.

For more casual Warehouse and Oasis longer length work.

Don't give up on Zara they've got some fabulous tops and t shirts.

I'm 5'10 with 34 inch inside leg BTW.

hobbs are really small, so are lk bennett.

I have had problems with karen millen too. lomg tall sally are really frumpy imo.

if you dont mind splashing out maybe a trip to browns in London or a Selfridges and look at the designer stuff, I never have an issue there.

if you want normal stuff topshop tall is great, tu at Sainsbury comes up long too, and has long leg trousers and leggings.

long tall Sally is worth persisting with, as they periodically have excellent pieces. my jeans are from there and I love them

I tend to buy my 'nice' dresses from phase eight outlet centre

hobbs, lk Bennett and Karen millen are for the small of body, arm and shoulder, IME

i agree with mrsbucket about LTS, frumpsville

reiss can definitely be good, i have a couple of dresses/skirts from there but i do think the quality has gone down over the last year

nothing in hobbs or KM has ever fitted me

I think MV is mint velvet. they have a JL concession so i've tried a few things on, again i'm not convinced about the quality and the material choice is def on the dodgy ground. their leather bikers are nice though.

i want to try topshop jeans, they seem to have a great range of waist/leg options. i used to like gap but they bag SO quickly, was a bit of a joke and a false economy for me.

jeans that fit me best are paige, J brand, goldsign and diesel. i always by in sales so generally don't pay more than £100 a pair and for the amount i wear them (5/7 days if not more) they are a great investment. hitching up jeans constantly is not a good look.

I have 36" inside leg and wear mens Gap jeans (low rise boot cut) and love them
