Is there a foundation with a sun factor 20+?

I have just been diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma. I'm very pale (MAC NW20) and always wear foundation. I do get oily skin so really need to find something appropriate for both. Does any such product exist?

I have never tried to tan and keep myself covered up in the sun so I am a bit fed up. I am only in my late thirties too .

Oh no - I hope you will be okay . I don't know about SPF20, but www.shiseido.com/sun-protection-liquid-foundation-spf-42/9990000000042,en_US,pd.html this has SPF42 and gets good reviews... Hope that helps a bit.

Loads of BB creams have high SPF and some give really good coverage, I use Este Lauders BB which has a SPF 25 but all the cheaper versions all tend to do SPF so worth hunting around.

The new Benefit one 'Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow' is really good and SPF25.

I'd go for a proper sunscreen with maximum UVA protection, then put foundation on top.

Try Sunsense Daily Face (SPF50+), it's like a tinted moisturiser and is ideal for oily skin. I too have pale freckly skin which is a bit greasy!

I often use it alone but it works well under foundation. About £12-£13, I think the last lot I bought from Amazon!

It's often recommended by dermatologists.

I'm another one that needs to cover up. (Don't want any more bits frozen off.)
Any good 50+ sun screens out there that aren't for children.

I second the sunsense from amazon. I'm super oily so I just use blotting papers during the day.

I read an article this week though that says that foundations with SPF only work if you put on the amount of product required to get the SPF coverage proposed, which is about a Tablespoon of product for one face. So prob cheaper just to use a regular suncream as your base..

I use Lingerie de Peau by Guerlain and that has SPF 20. I love it, the coverage is good although the colours apparently are not great.

Clinique City Block comes in 50+ SPF as well. I've used that in the past under my regular foundation.

I use the sunsense and sometimes the mac prep and prime 50+ they are both excellent.

Practicality I relied on the suncreens in foundation and daily moisturizers for years but if you do thin layers it is not enough - lots of pigment spots. I am very pale and nowadays only wear concealer under LRP Anthelios Tinted sunscreen. It might be right color for a NW20, I'm a bit paler still and mix it with untinted Anthelios. Works much better than combining sunscreen and foundation - pigment spots are fading and no new ones are emerging. Invest in a good wide-brimmed hat too.

The LRP Anthelios Tinted, Sunsense Daily Face and the Avene products seem to get general approval.

The MAC product has been reformulated and the new ingredients look grim for allergies.

Clinique City Block also sounds good!
