Do GHDs stop getting as hot as they age?

Mines 8 years old. Works ok but I swear it doesn't get as hot as it used to and it seems to take me ages to straighten my hair. Am I imagining it or does this happen?

Yes, I think the thermostat can go.

I've seen companies on ebay who will repair for a very reasonable price, or maybe get in touch with GHD?

Yep. You can send them back to ghd and pay for repair if they are out I warranty. Would trust eBay, go know what they'd do with a real pair of ghds. If they're years old and you need to invest in a new pair of irons have a look at some called cloud 9. Same price but 110% better than ghds.

I got mine repaired by an EBay person, £15 and back within 48hrs. They refund and send back for free if they can't fix them - there are loads of people doing it, just check their feedback.

My Dad fixed mine! And don't buy new ones, they are rubbish in comparison to fully working old style.

I didn't realise they could be fixed. Thanks, saved me buying new ones.
