White boots - whaddya reckon?

After a mixed response on MN Vogue, I thought id throw it open; I'm thinking of buying these boots - am I mad?

I really like them. Think they would look great with blue denim jeans amongst others...

They are very " hey everyone, just look at my feet", so for that reason, not for me.

(I prefer shoes that whisper).

I hated them until I realised that they weren't actually open toed, but that it was in fact a wee shiny bit at the front. Very spatsish, not as bad as at first glance

I think the key with statement footwear is to keep everything else very very simple. Otherwise you'll end up looking fancy dress or like a madwoman. So yes grey skinnies and black tee or whatever, but he addition of even a leather jacket would make them too much.

I'd wear them to a festival, in my pre-kids days or if someone would take them off my hands for a weekend
