Clingy mid calf length dresses

I just bought a dress in stretchy fabric, simple t-shirt style but clingy and ends mid calf. They're everywhere in the teen shops atm - anyone tried it?

Mine is pinky nude with a black Aztec pattern, I'm thinking with gold and black sandals and big sunnies if the sun ever comes out, and with biker and boots until then, although I haven't felt brave enough yet...

I love this length. There is a really annoying stunning girl at work who wears sweater dresses like this. At work! But hey, she has a great figure.

I bought a similar one jumpHerWho from River Island... I wore it with tan sandals / leather jacket and a big beaded necklace from Dorothy Perkins. and a massive clutch bag to hide my belly Grin

I like this look, but can't manage a full figure cling in thin fabric. I wear mid calf pencil skirts in the same fabric with a looser tee. I'm planning to swap boots for brogues in the summer.

I own 2 so far Im a size 14. They are more flattering than you think, I think they suit pears and hourglasses most. I wear a hold you in boob tube elastic dress under mine which smooths me out. The more patterned they are the more flattering I find them. I have an Aztec print one in dark colours and it is quite slimming. It looks good with a denim waistcoat and converse pumps and looks good for a might out with heels too. I plan to try some midi skirts but can't think what tops I'd wear with them

I am quite apply-shaped - and I was amazed how flattering my one was. It was a dark aztec print too. It had a hig round neck and with good underwear looked quite nice.

Ooh il tell my apple friend! I told her to try one and she was dead against it.

I have a dark green one from topshop, and I love it with heels and a cropped leather jacket. For some reason it looks better with my hair up too. I think they are surprisingly flattering!

JumpHerWho · 09/04/2013 12:08

I'm a size 8-12 depending on shop and a pear shape, it's flattering as long as not too tight I think, I went for a 12 so it clings without showing every dimple in my thighs Hmm mine is from New Look, only £15. I agree that patterned ones are more flattering.

I do need some sort of serious sucky in undersuit probably, but in my fantasy hot weather I don't think I'll want to wear one.

Although my bum clearly looks huge in it - I suspect I'll get some beeps from white van men if I go out sans children in tow...

A friend of mine has the New Look one in burgundy and black and I think it looks fabulous. I have a plain burgundy one from St Tropez which cost 3 times as much but isn't as nice IMO.
