I'm forty-something, size 14

I have ordered this dress and the petticoat for a posh do this summer.

Please oh lovely ladies of S&B what do you think?

I like the style, just not the pattern. The style really is lovely though. I think it will look great

Thank you there's loads more but I liked a skull patterned one the best but am a bit old for that and my son would be mortified

Honestly? I think they look a bit fancy dress. Sorry but I do. I don't dislike it, but for a posh event I think you will stand out a lot (which you might be fine with, so in that case it's fine!).

I don't want to be pastel mother. I am a bit rocker hippy in my normal style.

Maybe I should get one of the pastel dresses off there? Tone it down a bit?

NO - go with the ones you like. I think the first one minus the petticoat would look perfectly 'normal' (whatever the heck that means) but the petticoat makes it a bit more out there. Ignore me.
