Having spent the last nine months in nursing bras I want to treat myself to some decent underwear. I am returning to work so will only be feeding morning and night so want to get some underwire back in my life.

I am a 32f. Please tell me your favourite bra.

Fantasie bras.

Jcee · 06/04/2013 08:36

I second fantasie bras.

After a recommendation on here the only bra i wear now is fantasie belle balcony - they do a full cup too but that's a bit matronly.

NippyDrips · 06/04/2013 08:58

Off to Google fantasie bras....

Do you have a Bravissimo nearby? A wee trip if you do is probably your best bet.

Which bras will suit you best depend on the shape of your breasts - some bras work better for wide breasts, narrow breasts etc.

NippyDrips · 06/04/2013 10:00

I do have a bravissimo actually, they measured me up for nursing bras after I saw all the bra rescue threads. I had been wearing a 36dd and they put me into 32f.

Once I get sorted by them, will I be able to buy similar stuff online, ie if a plunge suits me best would all plunges pretty much be ok?

There is still always a bit of trial and error to ordering online but many places do free returns so it's not a problem really. Even if you find that, for example, plunges are best there will still be variance between the brands/specific bras. Brastop do free returns for example

The advantage with going in to Bravissimo is you will probably be able to figure out what sizes you need in at least some different brands/cuts and work from there.

Allthingspretty · 06/04/2013 11:16

I think because every brand id different then your best bet would be to try on IRL. Freya would also be worth looking at. Both hsve some lovely designs too. Debenhams and john lewis are good places to keep an eye on for bras on clerance\reduced and quite often have on promotion. If you want to splash out fauve is fantasies more lux range

The only thing i found with bravissimo is that they tried putting me in a smaller back size than i was

polyhymnia · 06/04/2013 12:04

If possible, go to Rigby and Peller and they will sort you. My own favourite brand is Prima Donna, but my back measurement is much bigger than yours.

NippyDrips · 06/04/2013 12:34

Thanks, it seems there is quite an art.to.wearing the right bra. How I have got to 27 wearing any old 34d (pre pregnancy) is beyond me. I was convinced they fit but since being properly fitted I realise they never did.

Rigby and peller are out of my price range unfortunately.

I'm 32E and like Fantasie best BUT the straps do seem to grow quite a lot - I've had to put stitches in mine.

NippyDrips · 06/04/2013 18:34

They seem to grow? Become looser? I've never noticed that with a bra before.

Beat way to keep bras in a good condition is to hand wash which is what i do with mine

WallyBantersJunkBox · 06/04/2013 18:45

I second Poly.

My dh gave me some vouchers for Rigby & Peller when I had DS. I think he was fed up of seeing my stained grey hideous nursing bras and hearing me moan about it.

I had a fitting and ended up in a bigger cup size and smaller back size than I'd ever been fitted for. I went down a dress size and my circulation in my arms actually improved (I have an arm injury).

I bought two Prima Donna bras. I'm an H cup and they do a wide range of sizes. The lingerie sets are beautiful and excellent quality.

My tip - get measured at Rigby for Prima Donna, then buy on line. Places like Affair.com are a good £15 cheaper.

I am trying to suss out a rumored Outlet shop for Prima Donna on my work trips to Italy. I will update when I find it!

BinksToEnlightenment · 06/04/2013 19:17

Wonderbra ultimate plunge. It's a bloody miracle for post breastfeeding boobs.

WallyBantersJunkBox · 06/04/2013 19:22

Binks the op is an F cup.

SorrelForbes · 06/04/2013 19:26

Prima Dona do some beautiful bras. I have one in a 32G but it's a little small in the cup.

BinksToEnlightenment · 06/04/2013 19:47

I know. It comes in a 32f. I'm a similar size.

WallyBantersJunkBox · 06/04/2013 19:50

Oh that's great, must be my area, I asked in a few lingerie depts and was told they only went up to a DD.

BinksToEnlightenment · 06/04/2013 19:54

Ooh yeah, you're right in the shops they have a bad range, but more sizes are online. Also sometimes much cheaper on Amazon.

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/04/2013 01:34

Don't know about the ultimate plunge but the ultimate strapless (which is pretty plunging!) does go up to a G cup.
