Hotter shoes??

I know I should be ashamed to be even looking, but I need comfy summer shoes. Something to go with casual summer dresses.

Please bear in mind that I have no desire to be fashionable or even particularly stylish, just to look OK Smile (and be comfortable) Blush

moaning. You utter bastard!!! That is horrible beyond horribleness

Not only are Hotter absolutely awful and frumpy, the one time I did misguidedly try a pair, in desperation for some comfortable shoes to walk a lot in on holiday, they shredded my feet to bits too - ended up spending a fortune on plasters, etc etc at the pharmacies of Toulouse. Never again!!

Pretty damn ugly, aren't they. They do look pretty comfortable though

I have Fitflops or walking sandals, like these

I think the first pair were quite cute actually.

I'm on my feet a lot at work, I bought these in green. I love them!

Never ask about comfortable shoes on style and beauty. They are lovely ladies, but they don't live in the real world of Clarks boots, trainers and comfy flat sandals.

They have no comprehension of a world in which any kind of court shoe or pump makes my heels burn on contact or heels kill my ankles on sight.

They don't live in a world where shoes protect your feet from stones and keep them warm.

Those shoes, OP are totally fine summer pumps, but a good hunt round may find you something else cheaper.

I agree Startail. I think those that want shoes that look good above everything else don't do much walking.

I once made the mistake of walking around Vienna all day in a pair of ballet pumps and the blisters were so painful.

Ideally I would like footwear to look good as well as feel comfortable, but in the end I always plump for comfort. My "pretty" shoes hardly ever get worn.

I have Gabor lanzarotes
Now they are comfy and I can walk miles on them.
They look ok too (better on)
They're a good compromise

I have these hush puppies in cream. Incredibly comfy, look quite smart and will clean up nicely in the washing machine!

As the great Sir Terry Wogan once said "it is never hot enough to wear an espadrille".

That is prob true but I think going 'Jesus Fucking H Christ No!' is the recreational point of these threads. So in the spirit of the thing I give you Pikolinos. I've had Pikolinos loafers and courts and walked miles in both so can recommend them for that. Try these. Or I've had two pairs of Dune boots see me through the last two perishing winters and not give up on me. They have a sale on so even if these ballet pumps aren't durable at least they are affordable. Though I tend to agree that a low court is actually better than a pump for walking.

OP they are fine. I have some Hotter ugg type boots and they are divinely comfortable. I need a good sole and used to live in £10 flats from New Look a few years ago. Sadly cheap shoes just don't cut it anymore.

And remember, nobody in real life will pay as much attention to or be as rude about your footwear as people who frequent this board.

Gosh, I think they're fine! If it meant a a comfortable foot I would wear it. Am in my twenties and fairly 'with it' clothing-wise. Life's too short to be in pain.

OP you don't say if for work or for outside of work - not sure if that would make a difference (?) .

I have wide feet & potential bunion - okay a bunion (!) & live in dresses & skirts & in the summer for casual wear I go with Birkenstocks - there I said it - someone will come & flame me but I do not care as they are very very very comfortable & I could walk for miles in them (& in fact did on hols in USA). I cant wear all their stles - I think mine are Madrid version - no toe posts just the strap widthways across - I have about 6 pairs no as I buy a new pair every year & I really love them.

This year thinkingof some Superga plimsoles as have heard good things about them.

For smarter I found lovely wedges in Jigsaw which have lasted really well & only tried them cos a friend told me wedges were really comfortable - I had been doubtful before but am now convinced. Good luck shoe hunting .

I have some Pikolinos flat long boots that I got half price. They have done many years service. The lining gave up and they have leather insoles, but otherwise they are lovely.
