Very dry knees

I have always had dry knees but since having a toddler and baby, I now spend most of the day on the floor and my knees are now completely shot :(

I do moisturise them when I remember but the skin is so dry that any cream just sits on top of the skin and never soaks in iyswim.

Any recommendations?

I'd be interested to know; mine are actually grey and horrible Shock tried everything x

Cybbo · 30/03/2013 13:37

Knee pads

FamiliesShareGerms · 30/03/2013 13:38

This winter my knees have gone grey and dry Sad (too much time in thick tights?? old age??), so hoping that someone will come along with a brilliant tip to kick start my holiday preparations regime

Cybbo · 30/03/2013 13:42

How's about a thorough scrubbing with an exfoliatior, a thick layer of body cream rubbed in ? That MUST sort it aarrrt

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/03/2013 14:39

Get some of those exfoliating gloves you use in the shower, I got mine in the £ shop.

They are brilliant for knees and elbows.

ellesabe · 30/03/2013 15:56

Ok, I may have to just try some extreme exfoliation!

Coconut oil. Miracle stuff.

SunnyRandall · 30/03/2013 16:38

I use a foot file on mine Blush then rub in Flexitol. Then wash with body puff thing every day and use the Flexitol at night.

Works like a dream when I can be bothered to do it

FamiliesShareGerms · 03/04/2013 20:39

This awesome exfoliating cream from Kelly Edwards skin care has sorted my knees out a treat! Highly recommend!!

hermioneweasley · 03/04/2013 20:43

I have tried a foot file on mine but not combined with flexitol- will give that a try.

The woman who waxed my legs (once ahead whether they need it or not) calls them "mum knees"

hermioneweasley · 03/04/2013 21:29

Right, have had a go at my knees with a foot file and slapped on some flexitol. It smells very.....medicated. DP has said not to use the flexitol on nights where sex might be on the agenda. I hope this works!

MooMinCow · 03/04/2013 21:38

I can't stand flexitol either (smells of hospitals)

I use those scrubby gloves every other day, but have ordered that Derma flannel to use on my legs (I epilate and get ingrowing hairs unless I scrub furiously) so will see how that works.

dietstartstmoz · 03/04/2013 21:48

epaderm - excema cream. Its brilliant, i have awful dry patches on both the top of my feet and my knees and applying this a couple of times works wonders

SunnyRandall · 03/04/2013 21:49

Ha ha loving flexitol as potential dh repellent.

SunnyRandall · 04/04/2013 10:44

Lovely knees this morning hermione? Smile

What about a thicker cream coupled with the exfoliating/body brush
I use cocoa butter which is really good but the body shop do body butters that are really thick and better or really dry skin

hermioneweasley · 04/04/2013 20:14

I think my knees might be a little better already

Will slap it on again tonight - sex be damned!

SunnyRandall · 04/04/2013 20:24

Soft knees are way more important than sex.

This stuff is absolutely amazing on dry skin. It's a miracle. I discovered it by accidentally scooping out too much during a nappy change and rubbing the excess into my toddler's dry knees one evening. The next morning, his battered knees were as soft as silk! It was like he had never learned to crawl.

Cheap as chips too!

ellesabe · 04/04/2013 21:17

Which type of flexitol cream is everyone using? I see there are a few different ones...
