Is Nars Orgasm worth thirty quid?!

Tempted to get Nars The Multiple in Orgasm - seems like everyone raves about it, but is it really worth thirty pounds? I'm looking for a peachy pink cream blusher that lasts well and can be used on lips too.

not if you have the smallest of open pores as it settles in them.

sleek rose gold is a great dupe, but is powder, but has good staying power if you want to try it out for colour?

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/03/2013 07:46

Well, someone's selling a USED one on eBay and getting bids on it so they must be sought after.

ifancyashandy · 30/03/2013 07:49

I find the gold aspect if it just that little but too glittery. But I like the apricot / pink tones. I prefer a Laura Mercier one - apricot blossom think its called.

FrugalFashionista · 30/03/2013 08:43

No. I have Nars Deep Throat (Orgasm too coppery) and while it has a lovely creamy consistency I somehow find the fingertip application a bit messy. Just about every other blusher I've ever tried, including no-name dime store variants, has been decent stuff, provided that you get the shade right and apply it right (prep the base and if using a brush, it should be big enough). I actually prefer powder blushers still, find them easier to apply, it's easy to overdo a cream blusher. Not sure about using Nars on lips Confused

The most amazing blusher I found recently is perfect peachy colour and lasts all day... Aldi lacura soufflé blush in a pot! I cannot believe it, my mum gave it to me. I used to have nars. She also gave me a pot of foundation which is awesome, was just about to buy new ysl one but no need now!

auldspinster · 30/03/2013 09:04

I've got the Orgasm multiple which is fab but a bit glittery but if I were you I'd get the Sleek rose gold blush and save your pennies.

auldspinster · 30/03/2013 09:10

I don't think orgasm would look that good on lips.

SweetieTime · 30/03/2013 09:22

I have the Orgasm in the stick too but it is quite shimmery. I also have the elf tickled pink which is very similar shade and the powder version is less shimmery. I had read a recommendation so decided to give it a go for only £3.75 + p&p.

You might want to give it a go before taking the chance on the Nars version.

AlwaysSleepingBeauty · 30/03/2013 09:54

I've only used the Orgasm powder blush, it's a gorgeous colour bit I wish they would do a matte version because my pores are gigantic.

googietheegg · 30/03/2013 10:04

V interesting! So the elf one looks worth a shot. I've also just come across the Clinique blush wear stick thing in peachy something which might be a goer.

Its marmite. I LOVE the illuminator and feel naked without it. But I mnow some people find it too shimmery. Try it in store?

joliejolie · 30/03/2013 10:13

Love the Illuminator too, but only a bit in winter. I use it like crazy in the summer and for going out though!

Bearcrumble · 30/03/2013 10:15

The laura mercier one is callef peach blossom. I was going to recommend it too.

joliejolie · 30/03/2013 10:16

And Nars is priced at the high end (well, middle if you look at upscale cosmetics), but I've always find the products work really well and last for ages.
The lip pencils are amazing and last all day. I've been wearing Cruella lately and I apply it in the morning and touch up after lunch and it looks good all day.

AlwaysSleepingBeauty · 30/03/2013 10:52

I love the Velvet Matte lip pencils too, my favourite is Dragon Girl.

HandMini · 30/03/2013 11:58

I bought a NARS bronzer (in Laguna) and got a free mini stick of Multiple in Orgasm. It has lasted for more than a year, so am guessing the full size would last FOREVER. I totally love it. It is a bit glittery, but only when the light really hits it. I would disagree with those who says its coppery, I see it as a lovely rounded pink. Definitely wouldn't want to use it on lips, but for blusher / highlighter / eye colour it's lovely. Go and ask for a freebie, you never know!

AuntieMaggie · 30/03/2013 14:35

:( I wanted the aldi stuff but they didn't have any left in the shop :(

BrunellaPommelhorse · 30/03/2013 15:29

god no - a bit glittery iirc

BrunellaPommelhorse · 30/03/2013 15:29

plus its very peach - a bit 1980s bridesmaid

I like the bobbi brown creme blush ones - in powder pink (Im dusky but white)

Jalopeno · 30/03/2013 15:30

I bought the blusher in Orgasm. I don't wear it as it makes my pores look huge.

Sandie79 · 30/03/2013 15:43

I have the powder version. I have to admit, I don't really understand the rave reviews: I'm very pale and a bit freckly and it doesn't do much for me: I find it quite a strong peachy shade and I can only get away with it if I use very little. What I think is much better for the investment is the bobbi brown shimmer brick in rose gold: Its a different thing - not really a blusher - but I use it much more than the nars and I'd say a v cheapy blusher with that on top would look better and more expensive than the nars.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/03/2013 15:47

No - it's too sparkly and it deffo wouldn't work on lips. You might be better with Benefit's ChaCha Tint, which is coral.

Max Factor do good creamy blushers but I don't know if there's a peachy one. The pink one (that looks like a China Doll colour) is lovely.

Cristiane · 30/03/2013 17:30

auntiemaggie I hope they don't discontinue it, it's lovely !

JumpHerWho · 31/03/2013 10:15

I love it to death, well worth it IMO. Use it loads on cheeks and eyes, feels weird on lips but the lip gloss in Orgasm is nice. It's an HG product for me, I know it's a bit sparkly but it doesn't feel too much for daytime.

AKissIsNotAContract · 31/03/2013 10:19

Why would a blusher be called deep throat? Minging.
