How do you feel about pleather accessories etc?

I know that for vegans and vegetarians pleather is a vaiable option however I am always surprised by the price of pleather bags etc.

A few years ago I bought a pleather bag thinking that for the price (near enough forty quid) I
it was leather and absolutly gutted that it wasnt.

Your thoughts?

Loathe them, won't buy them - they look much cheaper than they are, and they always flake/crack in high-stress places whereas leather looks better as it ages.

As a result, I have two Radley handbags (1 black, 1 brown, both bought at a considerable discount), two pairs of leather courts (1 black, 1 nude), two pairs of leather Dr Marten ankle boots (1 black, 1 purple) and two leather belts (1 black, 1 brown, both from charity shops). That covers all bases so I won't buy any more leather until something wears out, which hopefully won't be for a long time as I look after my leather very carefully.

I don't mind buying pleather for occasional use, clutch bag for going out for example.

I buy leather for everyday bags as pleather looks really bad after a few wears.

I won't buy pleather either - cheap and nasty imho

chanie44 · 25/03/2013 20:11

I find pleather looks cheap and isn't as hard wearing as leather. I do have some pleather items but am not keen on it.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 25/03/2013 21:17

I don't do pleather, leather in the sale is often cheaper anyway.

Pleather jackets - just no
Pleather detailing on things - ok
Pleather bags - what everyone else said

I'd like one of these though... just Shock at the prices for fake.

Fake fur, however, is fine and vastly preferable to the real stuff.

Horrible! I either buy leather or just go for fabric if I can't afford that - canvas bags/shoes for example.

Am shocked at the price retailers are charging for some pleather goods atm!

I wear pleather Grin M&S do some non-leather shoes/boots.
I've got a pair of their chunky cowboy style which I love.

For bags though I have Kipling which are fabric (they do some leather ones but not mine).

I wouldn't buy a pleather jacket though- bit tacky hot and squeaky Blush
