How come I've never heard of this before!! Do I need one?? I have thick bra strap length hair and after washing it I detangle it with a regular comb but I came across one of these on another thread (can't remeber where, sorry) and now I can't stop thinking that I'm missing out on something!!

I invested in one a couple of months ago as combing DD's hair was a nightmare. Everyone uses it now. No tangles, no tears!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 24/03/2013 16:47

We have two for the children, I use them too. DS has curly hair and is great.

MamaMary · 24/03/2013 16:48

Yes they're pretty good, I use one for DD's unruly hair. No idea how they work, but they do.

Wow that was fast, thanks, I think I'm getting the urge to get the credit card out.

Makes life so much easier in a morning - ds quickly brushes his own hair (I used to nag him all the time) - only problem now is ds wants longer and longer hair !

Vicky08 · 24/03/2013 16:51

I love having long hair but because it's so thick it takes longer and longer to comb through in the mornings so anything that would make it easier is great.

I have thick long hair and it doesn't go through my hair enough, it just tickles the surface. On the children though it's another story - amazing!

JennySense · 24/03/2013 17:32

We have two here - lifesavers!

Vicky08 · 24/03/2013 17:36

Ok I've just ordered one. My hair is very thick but if it doesn't go through my hair properly, my DD will love it so the money won't be wasted Wink

My friends dd's hair was awful just a big matt at the back and mine went through it no problem with no tears either they're great.

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/03/2013 18:51

I think they are useless on really thick hair. It doesn't touch DD1's knotty layer - just skims hopelessly over the top layer - we have to separate it all out and do it bit by bit, which might as well be done with a comb or a Denman brush.

BsshBossh · 24/03/2013 18:53

My 4yo DD has very thick, long hair and it doesn't go through her hair properly but I do use it on her as it's the only brush that doesn't cause her tears.

OohShinyChocolateHollowBunnies · 24/03/2013 18:54

They go through my thick hair. I miss mine. Lost it in November and not got round to replacing it. I love them.

What's the difference between the two? FreyaKitty

We use a teezer in the bath, on DD's wet fine, curly, very long hair and a tangle tamer on her dry hair.

The bristles are different. We find that the teezer only skims the surface of knots when DD's hair is dry.

She actually likes brushing it now though! Hmm

auldspinster · 24/03/2013 23:03

I've got long thick curly hair and also favour the denman tangle tamer, only £6 and works wonders on tugs and tangles.

Allthingspretty · 25/03/2013 08:03

I asked about it too on here op and bought it. Is very effective on my hair

The Tangle Teaser works fine in the thickest of long curly hair if you are patient. It takes ages though. It's not a magic solution like waving a wand, but it is 'magic' in the sense that it makes things tears free. Of course, unless you plait the hair up as soon as you're done it'll be back in its pre tangle teased state within 5 minutes. Grin

dontyouwantmebaby · 25/03/2013 10:21

I've got fine, long hair and the tangle teaser has been the best buy ever. Don't know how I managed without it. Confused

Got mine in bright orange so never lose it either!
