Good quality stores

Inspired by the 'fast fashion' discussion down thread, I thought it might be a good idea to get people's advice/opinions on where to shop for higher quality clothes. I know we can't always know the ethics of a certain brand, but I would LOVE to compile a list of decent stores that aren't high end designer (or stupidly overpriced), but surpass the average high street shop (H&M, Topshop, etc).

Any tips for where to shop in the murky middle ground?

Jigsaw (i have items from here which I really treasure. The quality can be great. Some of their stuff can be frumpy, though so you need to be careful)

Brora cashmere (although again try things on as there can be a frump factor)

Whistles

Mint Velvet can be a mixed bag quality wise but some nice designs.

And Hobbs, but again you need to choose carefully as they carry some hideous stock.

I just got some tops from Seasalt which are better quality than most high st stores.

I'm really curious about Brora. I appreciate that they sell quality items, but the prices seem a bit out there. Like designer prices. Does the quality really justify the pricetag, or am I getting too comfortable with my La Redoute cashmere? Grin

Toasted - I don't think I've ever regretted anything I got from Brora - it's warmer, washes well, lasts longer and looks nicer than any other cashmere I've had.

I'm impressed with Woolovers so far, have a couple of jumpers but haven't had them long so will wait to see how they wash. Cashmere and merino mix beautiful fine knit for under £30 though. Beats high st knitted polyester for the same price.
