I'm trying to 'accessorise' for a wedding. This is not me. It is very hard.

Dress is a silk wrap around thing, about knee length, greyish colours with a bit of pink, green and orangey-peach. Cardigan in a light orangey peach (actually nicer than it sounds). Shoes are nude.

Any good links to necklaces? What colours would work? I'm thinking on the inexpensive side please.

Link to dress? And do you like gold or silver? Or rose gold?

Judyandherdreamofhorses · 23/03/2013 20:22

I can't find a link to the dress as it is a few seasons old. I prefer silver.

I would go for a green necklace. Could go turquoise, jade, teal, emerald, all depends on the colours in the dress.

Banana Republic
Monsoon Accessorize
All good places to have a look as they do pretty stuff under £50 - and you can shop online so no need to brave the cold!

LeChatRouge · 23/03/2013 20:25

Could you tell us about the shape of the dress neckline?

Do you wear earrings? Sometimes, if the dress is fairly patterned, a necklace might be one thing too many.

tak1ngchances · 23/03/2013 20:34

True Lechat. I imagined it quite plunging as its a wrap. Earrings could be très nice also...but I would still go green, I have a penchant for greens with pinks & peaches

Judyandherdreamofhorses · 23/03/2013 20:39

The dress is quite muted. Yes - a fairly plunging neckline. I think green would be good with the dress. I did look for a green cardigan but found this peachy neutrally one (Oasis). Would adding another colour be a bit messy? Now I'm wondering, after the above question, if gold would be better than silver with the colours.

Oh I don't know. I'm rubbish at this.

I don't think adding another colour would be messy...what kind of green is in the dress? is it like apple green, or dark green, or turquoisey?

Order a bunch of stuff from (necklaces and earrings) then send back what you don't want for a full refund.

It's not scary, you will be fine :-)

Judyandherdreamofhorses · 23/03/2013 21:04

Lime green, but only tiny bits.

Never thought of ordering lots and sending it back. Good plan .

Yes it will be good if it's picking up an accent colour. Have you got neutral shoes & bag?

JumpHerWho · 23/03/2013 21:07

I'd go with something simple and glam - doesn't have to be pricey but I think if you go down the statement costume jewellery route it could look a bit much, combined with a printed dress and a cardi. Googling pale pink or peach gemstone necklaces threw up this beauty, sold out but this would look lovely I think here

Judyandherdreamofhorses · 23/03/2013 21:09

Neutral shoes. No bag. Do I really need one? Will be mostly accessorising with a baby in a sling and a 3 year old covered in chocolate ice cream, no doubt. Will need a massive changing bag hidden somewhere!

Or if you wanted to pick up another colour from the dress, green amethyst is lovely with silver, which if the dress is grey and you like/suit silver would be good.

JumpHerWho · 23/03/2013 21:20

Ooh yummy ok totally over budget but I'm finding all sorts of lovely necklaces for me for you! Smile

Judyandherdreamofhorses · 23/03/2013 21:22

Just a bit over budget, jumper! But lovely. A bit too glam for me I think too. But I think you need it...!

Ha. I have neither the budget nor the occasion, unfortunately Grin
