Find me a warm, black parka under £150?

Preferably even under £100. I am size 8. Would prefer with a hood with the furry bit on. I can only seem to find olive or navy anywhere. Help much appreciated"!

This sort of thing? Levis via Zalando £45

PeskyRat · 22/03/2013 20:41

SirToffee, big coincidence...just took delivery of that exact coat via Zalando.

Not at all flattering on me, and the hood is just a joke, WAY too big to be useful, covers whole face! (Very impressed with Zalando btw).

My hunt continues, but I have a small budget. Will watch this thread though for any bargains.

TinyDiamond · 22/03/2013 20:41

hmmm maybe yes, good price. Do you think it would be warm?

Interesting feedback, peskyrat, partic. about being impressed with Zalando. Good to know :)

Right, that one is out, the North Face for £165 sounds very good, but here is one from Superdry that might have potential for someone?

TinyDiamond · 22/03/2013 21:33

I really like the superdry one in charcoal apart from the big logo on the back of shoulder, don't like that at all

i quite like \link{http://www.frenchconnection.com/product/Woman+Collections+Coats+And+Jackets/70AF9/Army+Nation+Combat+Coat.htm\this} but don't tick many of your boxes

nars · 22/03/2013 21:43

oh sorry, doesn't seem to want to be linked! called army nation combat coat

TinyDiamond · 22/03/2013 21:48

I got this one www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/jack-wolfskin-womens-baffin-jacket-2c110242?id_colour=144 which is described as "shadow black" (a slightly brownish black). It is fab (ordered several other jackets online before settling on this one) - very cosy, seems waterproof, much more flattering than others I tried.

nobodysfool · 22/03/2013 23:17

Didriksons are great for mega warm parkas . I have one in black ( can't remember the name) have never felt cold in it even through the worst weather ,

Maraki · 23/03/2013 06:39

I got the Merrell Isadore for £120 and it is totally waterproof and toasty! Sorry on phone, can't do links. Lots of places have them reduced online, you'll probably need a S. I am a suze 16 and needed the XL.
It has an internal cord on the waist which pulls the coat in and gives a flattering shape.

Maraki · 23/03/2013 06:39

Size not suze!!

onamissiontomakeithappen · 23/03/2013 07:53

@peskyrat does look good, please can you tell me what the zalando parka fitting is like? I'm petite not sure if Xor XS? Thanks

TinyDiamond · 23/03/2013 09:31

Right I'm going to look at merrel and didriksons today then but north face arctic is def looking good. I just hope it doesn't go before payday on weds

onamission re the Zalando Levi's parka - I'm a size 12/14 at the moment so got the large size. Fitted well on top half, but too big and flappy on bottom half. Also as I said earlier, the hood really is a joke and cannot be used as so big, but if u don't need the hood then it detatches.

Zalando does free delivery and free returns so you could order both sizes.

shopafrolic · 23/03/2013 19:56

Lands End
I have this one from Lands End. The only thing I own from Land's End but it's a flattering fit....

Inertia · 24/03/2013 00:04

I'd go for the Arctic parka. I bought one this year and it's been fantastic. £165 is a really good price- reckon you'll get plenty of use out of it. Properly waterproof too.

Inertia · 24/03/2013 00:08

PS Double check that it's a legit site, seems as though there are some scam North face outlet sites out there.

onamissiontomakeithappen · 24/03/2013 09:37

thanksPeskyRat..

TinyDiamond · 25/03/2013 14:33

I bought the north face one (It was a genuine site, an outdoors website) it was the last one in an xs. Apparently. All went through but then I got an email earlier to say that they have refunded me as it was actually out of stock. Rubbish. I am still cold. Brrrrr

Bumping in the hope there are some bargain warm duvet coats out there.

Will summer ever come?
