Am going to a ball on Friday night - I have a slightly dull black dress (from Coast) - have had it for ages & always find something else at the last moment, so am determined to actually wear it this time. So, I need to glam it up a bit - I was thinking of taking it a bit retro and curling my hair (bob length, & have curled it 40s style before) but am feeling hugely uninspired otherwise - I have silver or black strappy shoes, and a couple of oldish silver bags.

Inspire me, people....

I quite like the idea of going retro hollywood glamour type sparkly (my ears aren't pierced anymore, but I could bling up otherwise I s'pose....

Buy a fab clutch, some big sparkly earrings and get hair and make up done professionally.

A dress like that doesn't need too much in the way of bling - keep it simple and make sure that what is in the dress is the wow-factor, not the accessories.

Hair and make up done professionally not going to happen sadly - no time! But good call on less is more - think I am in danger of throwing stuff at it to make it feel more exciting
