So... have a birthday coming up,have had a lousy few months and am debating whether to be extravagant and splash out on one or two things from this range instead of spending gift money
on practical stuff (have only used concealing wand thingy from By T before)... I keep hearing how great the range is...is there anything NOT worth the money? What are the must haves? (I don't wear blusher, ever, by the way)

Quite oily (but sensitive) skin , also eyeshadow tends to irritate me. Are the foundations, powders and lip glosses all great?

The make up artist at my wedding used touch velouté on me and my mum and it looked lovely- mum liked it so much she bought it afterwards. It's like a giant touch éclat but better. I recently got the touch expert which is more pigmented and better at covering my dark circles. There was also a tinted moisturiser thing (rose something?) that I tried at Space NK while getting the concealer- was gorgeous but only if you don't need much coverage. Makes one look lovely and glowy!

Agree touche veloutee is brilliant.

The foundation is great as well - eclat opulent - but costs a fortune. It does give a beautiful glow though.

The eyeliner pencils are crap - you may as well buy Miss Sporty.

I use her Cover Expert foundation.

It is without doubt the best I've ever used and it has lasted for ages, I glow and it stays put all day. The only problem is the tube, it leaks and I have to keep it upside down to avoid wastage.

I love a lot of the products. Favourites are the tinted moisturiser and the Baume de Rose lip balm, which I'm never without. Probably best to go to a Space NK and try out the products you fancy. The people there are usually very helpful.

I tried the touche veloutee at space nk last week. I was really impressed. I was going to buy it until I realised that I had already spent £90 (laura mercier tinted moisturiser and chantecaille foundation) so I had to stop myself. It is on my list of things to buy though. I think its about £35.

HeyLuciani · 19/03/2013 11:51

Sugarice, I had the same problem - mine leaks too. Lovely foundation but it wrecked my make up bag and some of my other make up so I won't buy it again.

i've just remembered it was touch veloute i had! and it leaked and ruined everything in my bag! thanks for suggestions

I love it. The rose lip balm is lovely and lasts ages (can be used for cuticles etc too) A pot lasts me over 6 months with daily use.

The foundations are brilliant. I use Teint Delectation and Cover Expert.

I bought their equivalent of a BB cream - hyalu something - and it would not go on properly at all. That's the only thing I wouldn't recommend.

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/03/2013 20:20

I have had some ByTerry skincare, and it was a bit "meh". Filorga is better. (And you can get it in M & S now.)

Terry is the lady who invented Touche Eclat for Yves Saint Laurent cosmetics.

is there a foundation suitable for quite oily skin? definitely don't want to look glowy, have enough of that! Want to look natural..but imperfections covered...
