Where can I find a nice basic cardigan.

Requirements are:
Crew or v-neck is fine.
Not too expensive (no cashmere or hand wash )
I want some nice colours - not just black.
Buttons all the way down the front (not just one at the top).
Next have some but already sold out in size 14 (FFS) - same with M and S.

Any suggestions where else to try?

Thanks Thanks

I was coming to say uniqlo (I bought one on an Autumn evening when it was colder out than I expected and it has washed wonderfully, looks like new still) but I think I may be tempted to try one of those woolovers ones now!

DamnDeDoubtance · 20/03/2013 08:16

God I love a nice cardi, drooling over woolovers. [need to get out more emoticon]

Astonished at the Woolover site - my problems are solved!

Hi girls!
Try H&M - I find its knitwear is really reasonable. The quality is good and it lasts in the washing maching! Very stylish too. x

Lands End

Thank you! I have been looking at a jumper on Woolovers, loving the price and the natural fibres, and really worried that they would turn out to be rubbish/ middle aged golfing numbers (there does seem to be a lot of golf mentioned in the write ups, but maybe that's me). So thanks for reassuring me

Woolovers (great customer service, brilliant sizing info) and Uniqlo.

susiefen · 20/03/2013 09:52

Hi
I bought 2 in Primark yesterday - crew neck with metal buttons all the way down and only £6. Thy had loads of colours including lovely pastels and stripes too

dreamingofsun · 20/03/2013 09:56

i've had mediums and i'm a 14. they are slighly generous normally but not madly so

DaffodilsAhoy · 20/03/2013 14:54

Ok, I've been shopping and have some cardigan news.

Uniqlo have loads, nice colours £20 each
Zara - it's too bloody scary in there, left before I found anything (hate their colour grouping lay out)
H and M - £9 (I think) cotton crew neck cardigans, but with 3/4 sleeves.

The BIG news is though that GAP have an amazing sale on, they had got lovely cotton/silk mix cardigans (longish length) lots of different colours, reduced by 60% to £10 each. I bought one, my friend bought two Smile

I have seen a cardigan I like from Woolovers too so will order one there too I think.

So sad I am not the only person to get excited by cardigans Blush Grin
