MyPashmina are meant to be good.

hermioneweasley · 16/03/2013 20:06

DKNY cozy

loflo · 16/03/2013 20:25

If you google Johnstons of Elgin they have lovely cashmere stoles. I Envy them!!!

AmberNectarine · 16/03/2013 21:02

I have a couple of cozys but I can't get on with them!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 16/03/2013 21:34

Thank you very much. Hermione, I have looked at the cozy but it looks like a waterfall cardigan, am I right? I have one but the long bits seem to get in my way, tend to use it when I feel like a bit of comfort at home.

I'm going to ny with dh in a couple of months and we've treated ourselves to upper class and i want to look like those glam first class ladies you see, I'm imagining big sunglasses, camel coloured shawl, black silky type wide leg trousers (haven't figured out the top yet, maybe just a white tshirt) and a statement necklace. Ideally this would be my necklace necklace link and I'm about £350 off my eBay target to purchase it but I must have it! Any views?

This thread is totally inspired by the what do you wear first class thread but concentrating mainly on the shawl you see the look I'm trying to achieve it may help Smile sorry for the ramble, I had a tooth taken out earlier and I can't talk in rl so I'm over compensating.

I have looked at the johnstons ones and they aren't quite as big as I want, thank you though.

Have you looked at Brora? Lovely cashmere shawls

LadyApricot · 17/03/2013 07:30

I got an amazing cashmere and fake fur one from the American eBay.. Worth a look on there. It's rrp is 350 and I got it for 70!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 17/03/2013 11:44

Perfect Kohl and Grand, I'm between those two now but leaning more towards the travel shawl. Excellent Grin

Well I got delayed on Tues by 4 hours at gatwick and was v glad to have a large blanket of cashmere to snuggle under. Made me feel slightly first class on my budget airline. I wear it as a big scarf then convert to blanket mode as necess!

On the necklace front ... try Zara and Marks and Spencer. I have a nice oversized diamante and bead necklace from Zara,* and Easy Living had a fashion spread about two issues ago featuring a very good M and S necklace.

*I, just in my opinion, think it looks like the sort of thing Anna Wintour might wear with a T-shirt and sunglasses. And it received approbation from my dd as well.

gatheringlilac · 17/03/2013 16:35

Aaagh! Forgot to say that I have a merino shawl, bought in T.K. Maxx. It is amazingly warm and very practical, really. Dd really, really disapproves. She says I look as though I've escaped from a C19 workhouse.

So that's a thought, too.

But a cashmere stole/pashmina/shawl that can be worn in a multitude of manners would undoubtedly be more stylish (and practical, really).

StrawberrytallCAKE · 17/03/2013 17:11

Gathering, Anna wintour eh? Hmmm....is that good or bad? She is vogue editor but quite harsh and I am only 30. I was hoping for more of an Audrey Hepburn/Jackie O look.

Ooh and I'll have a look at necklaces, thanks! £350 is not ideal on a necklace for myself....

I second Zara, they have had a really good range of statement necklaces for the past couple of seasons ranging from £20-£50ish.

travailtotravel · 17/03/2013 18:25

I am going to Kashmir to buy a proper pash later in the year ... when do you fly?!

And another one saying maybe shop around - you could get something like that statement piece for less elsewhere.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 17/03/2013 19:58

We are leaving the beginning of August.

Yes I think you're right about the necklace, the Zara accessories are still a bit wintery so fingers crossed they'll update soon.

OOh, not going til September - sorry. But you'll get something fab. I had an amazing wrap from Max Mara ....

claredickinson · 18/03/2013 15:01

I have two of those (the big ones): www.countingflowers.co.uk/webshop/pashmina-shawls

They are very soft and of great quality (I've been wearing them forever). And the price is good too.

Good luck!

Pure collection. Com and cashmere centre.co.uk.
Or a Scottish shop on Regent's Street. Looks like it's for tourists but they do lovely cashmere wraps.
