I bought this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/181093912349 it's a sort of pearly-grey colour. It fits well and is quite flattering now I need shoes, bag and something to cover my arms.

I can't do high heels. I have a pair of nice pointy toed kitten heels but I'm open to suggestions. I am blonde and fair skinned. I was thinking maybe a Boden cropped cardi to cover my arms in a striking color and don't know about the shoes or bag. I have curvy calves and am always conscious that lower shoes exaggerate that but I really can't do high heels. The wedding is in a month so I am conscious of the fact that the weather could be anything really but I definitely will want to cover my upper arms.

The link doesn't work but turquoise or teal accessories always look lovely with grey. Cream looks good too but that might blend in too much with you hair.

Really link doesn't work? On my phone now. Darn. Will try to get again when at home.

It works for me :)

I'd agree with a bright shade like teal or turquoise. I

Pointed kitten heels will be lovely with that- very 50s. I'd do black with a little black veiled hat.

I would accessorise with a fur wrap like this

tethersend · 15/03/2013 17:57

But maybe in grey or cream

pocketandsweet · 15/03/2013 18:05

Hadnt even thought about hat. I have never found a hat that didn't make me feel like a complete idiot. I thought it was a bit 50s too and even wondered if I might get a slip to slightly exaggerate the skirt . Woo hoo look at me ( can you tell I don't normally have reason to dress up). Any hat link ideas would be great. The dress was such a bargain and if I can wear my own shoes then it is just an arm covering thingie and bag ( and maybe hat) I will need.

And definitely pearls and red lipstick Wink

tethersend · 15/03/2013 18:19

I said black, but navy would also work...

tethersend · 15/03/2013 18:20

What colour are your shoes?

pocketandsweet · 15/03/2013 18:20

I can do the pearls tethers but I'm afraid red lipstick is a similar problem to hats. I always feel SO self conscious . I know there is supposed to be a "red for everyone" but mine appears to be hiding. Also I have really full lips so bold lipstick always makes me feel like a drag queen. This dressing up stuff is complicated :)

Shoes are black. I was originally thinking silver pointy sling back kitten type things ( to make it more spring-like )...

Ok, ok, Flicky eyeliner and nude lips will also look great.
