My nails are in a state.

I have just got over the flu and various other winter bugs, since then my nails look dreadful.

They are really soft, as in you an bend the top bit right over, and the white bit is just full of split layers.

I am back to work from mat leave in six weeks, and my nails will be exposed to alcohol hand gel a million times a day so I need to get them back to health.

I just need short, tidy healthy nails that look good when they are naked in the week.

Am out later and have access to boots, house of Fraser and space NK. Anyone recommend any wonder products?

I find using a glass nail file helps stop them splitting. Something to do with sealing the edges in. You can buy them in Boots.

Maybe some cuticle oil and nice hand cream to strengthen the nail bed.

Are you allowed to wear natural looking or clear nail varnish?

I use Nailtique formula 2. Not sure if you can but it in any shops, I order it from Amazon. It looks like clear nail polish and you paint it on daily, my nails always look great after a couple of weeks of use.

I have an OPI nail oil that you paint on like nail varnish that seems to help condition. Be careful what you touch though - it will lift plastics like all oils.
