Lymecycline - long term benefits?

Oops...

I've had acne forever, and am trying not to get too excited about the major improvement I'm seeing after 2 weeks on Lymecycline. I must have tried everything over the years, and the only other drug that has worked was Roaccutane, but sadly the effects didn't last.

So - if you have taken Lymecycline, and it has worked for you, how long did your doctor prescribe it for? And did the benefits last after you stopped taking it?

I've been on it for around 7 years. It is quitegood, not perfect.

Wow - I hadn't imagined such long-term treatment. Good to know I could stay on it if it really works. Have you ever tried stopping? How did your skin react?

I've been on it on and off for years. I honestly can't remember how long, but at least 7 or 8 years. It is very good, but unfortunately every time I try to come off it my acne flares up again within a few months and I have to go back on it. For ages I kept 'testing' it, convinced that my acne had actually properly cleared up, only to go back to my GP with my tail between my legs a couple of months later for a new prescription. He has advised me to stay on it indefinitely (until menopause!) and to stop deluding myself that everything will be OK if I stop taking them ...

I have been on it over a year. My skin has improved so much.
