Spring coat/jacket - what should I be looking for?

That's about it really? Need a coat or jacket for spring, probably more for general use, rather than dressy for work. Does it have to be a mac? Are parkas still 'in'? Any S&B advice much appreciated Smile

I want to know this too. I want something light with a hood, maybe in beige or grey. But not one that doesn't make me look like I'm 75. I have no idea what is 'in'!

I mean one that doesn't make me look like I'm 75 obviously!

Jersy blazers are very current - see the "jersey blazers again" thread for loads of inspiration.

Trenches and biker jackets are perennial favourites.

I also think the parka shape is a classic. Yesterday I bought this as I though it would be a useful thing to fling on with a nice scarf when I go to the supermarket etc.

That anthro one in the last link fulfils your light , beige and hooded criteria, northruroad. However, they had similar in grey and khaki in Mint Velvet yesterday when I was in.

Thanks, will have a look in Mint Velvet. Like the anthropologie one a lot but more than I had wanted to pay.
