Anybody tried oil pulling

I found something on Pinterest about this which is supposed to be fab for your teeth and when I googled it there are lots of good reports on it. Apparently you swish oil around your mouth for about 10 - 15 minutes the spit it out. I am not sure if this would make me feel sick.

Anybody tried it???

I've been meaning to try it for a long time. I don't think I could swish oil around my mouth for that long though! It has to be good oil too, can't remember which, but mustn't be just any old oil.

10 to 15 minutes??!!

nightswimmer · 01/03/2013 21:13

yes I've tried it. It's quite hard to do at first, but you get used to it-the difficulty is getting people not to speak to you while you're doing it -you can't talk! I did it with olive oil, and I did find it made my teeth feel smoother and cleaner than ever before. It's supposed to be madly good for lots of other things too....there's a whole long list some of which sound a bit unlikely.

It has lots of amazing claims but i can't imagine doing it I would choke!

I would have to do it when the house is empty since I would not be able to go too long without speaking. Though I am sure the kids would love it and dp for thst matter. It is supposed to be really good for flushing out toxins via the gums but I just wondered if it is that good, why I had never seen it on s&b before.
